Boatless Fishing Forecast

Pilchard will start to show in abundance, some Mullet will be meandering along the coast and Goggle eyes and Greenies”Thread herring” will also be around.

The month of May shows the start of the Silver Kings-Tarpon they will start there migration heading north and hug the coastline and be with in casting range, many look forward to the start of this migration and get that itchy feeling as we move through May into June knowing that it will only get better Day by Day.

King Mackerel will be around this month and will make there showing at Dania and Deerfield Piers, you may also see a few nice cobia come up also.

Another fish to move in will be Snapper – Muttons and Mangroves and we will see a lot more caught now in and around the fishing piers, Pompano will still be caught but it will be the stagglers, Bluefish will still be in our waters and Spanish Macks, Large Cero Macks will also start to make a thicker showing towards the end of the Month as we move into summer conditions and it warms up.

But nothing will compare to the Hundreds of Tarpon that will pass daily heading North you can fish Tarpon from the Piers , Beaches and Inlets, from the Piers you can sight fish them with live Pilchard live lined, a nice size Mullet head lobed out from the beach will also work and at the inlets live or Dead will get you picked up.

Have a great time fishing, the Boatless Fisherman.. a fishing Friend
