{"id":689,"date":"2010-06-14T07:45:10","date_gmt":"2010-06-14T11:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/boatlessfishing.com\/blog\/?p=689"},"modified":"2020-07-06T16:38:24","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T20:38:24","slug":"singer-island-612-613","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/boatlessfishing.com\/blog\/?p=689","title":{"rendered":"Singer Island 6\/12-6\/13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning everyone, Phil here with the weekend Singer island report..<\/p>\n<p>Sat Evening- arrived around 630 and we got started. \u00a0Decided to try some shrimp on the rocks due to the success I&#8217;ve had the past few weeks.\u00a0 Seemed the only thing coming up were little grunts &#8211;\u00a0not much bait around as the sun was going down.\u00a0 As the evening went on\u00a0we pulled up 1 nice sized mutton snapper before we called it a night.\u00a0 We had numerous visitors on the beach (turtles) and felt it best to call it a night so they can do there business.<\/p>\n<p>Bait of choice was whole sardines-<\/p>\n<p>Sunday- Arrived at the usual spot around 10am.\u00a0 Everyone had lines in the water so I got started.\u00a0 I had picked up 3 dozen live shrimp in hopes of the rocks producing some snapper,\u00a0 rather than the plethora of grunts the evening before.\u00a0 Set up my first rig and got started&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>BAM no sooner than it hits the water first snapper on, a little mangrove on the small side comes up and returned safely to his home.\u00a0 It would seem if I\u00a0had any kind of\u00a0slack in my line as it hit the water my bait was gone by the time the weight hit the bottom.\u00a0 \u00a0As the next hour and a half passed, I had limited out on mangroves from 13-15 inches. \u00a0After limiting out I tested a few other baits to see what the fish would do.\u00a0 They didnt blink an eye to greenies or baby mullet.\u00a0 Little wind, with a decently strong north current, I&#8217;d say 5 knots or so.\u00a0 Water color was murky on the rocks.<\/p>\n<p>Bait of choice- live shrimp hooked as if it was a fresh water jig as well as DOA bait buster style hooking.<\/p>\n<p>On a side note saw 2 things that had me concerned, while the ladies were in the water they noticed a fish playing possum or so they thought. we walked over to them and saw a dead slot snook just washing around in the surf. didnt see any trauma to the fish so not sure what got him.\u00a0 About an hour later we see some sun tanners walking by the shore and start pulling out a dead shark.\u00a0 Again no clue what\u00a0took these 2 animals out, but very disturbing to see fish like that floating in my fishing back yard.<\/p>\n<p>Phil<br \/>\n<!-- Quick Adsense WordPress Plugin: http:\/\/quickadsense.com\/ --><\/p>\n<div class=\"75c64d2a443b8481f103cea57027b782\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:0px;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- pbad --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2558950950178423\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"7031004798\"\n     data-matched-content-rows-num=\"1\"\n     data-matched-content-columns-num=\"4\"\n     data-matched-content-ui-type=\"image_stacked\"\n     data-ad-format=\"autorelaxed\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px; height: 0px; line-height: 0px; margin: 0; padding: 0; clear: both;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning everyone, Phil here with the weekend Singer island report..
