For the past three or so weeks, the Boca Raton inlet has been really loaded with bait.\u00a0For the most part, the majority of the bait has been\u00a0pilchards, along with cigar minnows, sardines, greenies, and the occasional google eye. <\/p>\n

Attracted to the abundance of bait, tarpon have been stacking up all over the\u00a0 inlet, along with some snook. Besides the tarpon and snook, some small mangrove snapper and some fierce barracudas having been making their appareances.\u00a0Expect the snapper bite to pick up real soon.<\/p>\n

An inlet regular caught this\u00a0beautiful snook Monday evening:
\nI headed out this evening for a quick trip to see what I can hook up to from around 6:00 -8:00 PM. Bait was hard\u00a0 to find at the start, but it steadily picked up and by the time I left everyone could catch bait with ease. As I arrived to the inlet, another inlet regular\u00a0was releasing\u00a0probably a\u00a0slot snook, of course released though. Instead of going to the end of jetty, I fished around the middle of the inlet on the south side. Although nothing landed, I had one nice run on a flat lined pilchard,\u00a0but whether it be a cuda or tarpon, it escaped.<\/p>\n
