So ive read back all the posts of peoples recomendations for a first time yak. Question... I only weigh 140 lbs. DO I want a shorter/smaller kayak so its easier for me to manage?

I never found the ScupperPro to be tippy at all, its a very stable kayak... RTM does have a weird different shaped tank well, kind of useless, the SPro easily holds a Crate made for 6x2liter bottles.....

So i have tried a few different ways to keep live bait on the yak. A 5 gal bucket with aerator is okay, but the water change is a PITA. I also tried the bucket with hanging the bilge pump of the side...

@phishin: Yeah I get the same problem, but it doesnt really effect anything. I have started plugging one scupper and the pump goes thru the other so its not too bad.

I would get a one motorized kayak and another non-motorized kayak. Then drag your dad's kayak to any fishing spots.

I would suspect it would be too tight and awkward trying to cast out with another...

Ok, maybe a dumb question, but why choose a kayak over say a canoe or small jon-boat? It seems both of these would give you more room to move around in them?

you dont live to far from Juno Pier, why dont you target them from there. but if you still want to use a kayak just troll some x rap diving plugs outside of the buoys near the pier. i say around a few...

FYI..PADDLE OUT AS FAR AS YOU WANT..
PUT KITE UP..CATCH ALOT OF FISH..THEN PUT IT UP ONLY 20 FEET IN THE AIR AND...
NOT HAVE TO PADDLE ONE TIME TO SHORE..TROLL ALL THE WAY IN..EASY TO STORE IN YAK....

I was gonna take my Kayak down there sometime next week. just wondering where some good spots to launch from would be. and where to head once I'm in the water.An info wold be helpful.

Also Chapman field park just opened for paddlers. They added a canoe launch with handicapped access---so getting in and out is super easy. The main lagoon was kinda dead, but the creek on the NE side...
