EFC fishing 03-30-2011 (12)

Post by EFC fishing »

Was able to do a hurry up trip last night from 8:35 pm until 10:30 pm. Started out with a slight wind but soon it died down & actually turned warm. Went out with 12 dozen live shrimp by myself. The 'fish tale' tally:

1 on foot passerby from out of no where, asking me about the snook season, snappers & how often am I there. My call is undercover FWC- he just looked it. LOL! 1 lookdown- pictured & saved in deep freezer. 5 ladyfish- 2 caught & released, but not pictured, & 3 jumpoffs. 3 snook- 2 hook pulls & 1 that felt like the one from report 6 on 2/28 except it broke the line just as I got the net down to it. My mistake of not checking & retying after a ladyfish catch. Few more hits that felt like snook. Saw quite a few either chasing or busting. 1 small tarpon jumpoff- flared gills & threw the hook with one jump. LOL! Saw a few much larger ones rolling on stuff.

Just for the heck of it:

What does EFC mean?

Generally speaking, what location are you fishing, or is this your secret spot?

short version- Ed Frank & Chris (fishing)- they also go hunting often. plus brother in laws, sisters, their kids, closest friends.

as for places, usually the local bridges, seawalls (where allowed) on the inside- if there is not many people already set up; if so we head to another place, tide pending. also do little trips out of county, sometimes full weekend deals away- one reason we really dont fish the piers much anymore (gets too crowded at times, then people jumping into the spot you are at when you hook a fish, cross your lines, etc.)- we surf fish more actually- its in the blood (grandmother & father {when he used to fish & build his own rods}).
