The beach has been pretty dead, too much west wind in the mornings and no trough. Can't complain with the snook except being on the small size, I think they should be running a little bigger than they have been. Tarpon have been around, just have to have the right timing to be there when they are, landed a couple more this past week. Been chasing peacocks but I'd trade them for a jack any day, haven't caught any.

Thanks for the update, Stu... sounds like ur having more luck than me (more hours on the beach helps, I'm sure!)...
Fished boca this morning... a good number of small bait, but again nothing hittin' 'em.
A guy that also did not get anything this morning said he caught a couple snook with liveys yesterday morning.

Tues/Wed we should have 15-20mph E winds and 5-7' waves, so that should change it up a bit! I figure it will be time for the long-casting spoon...

Friday thru yesterday seemed dead to me. On Thursay around 6 pm I I kayak fished with a friend just north of the countyline in the ICW canals and found the motherlode. Tons of huge mullet and huge tarpon rolling every couple of minutes. Huuuuge tarpon. Freelined finger mullet until dark but unfortunately never got a big catch. Great to be up close and personal with some major tarpon, though.

There's been a lot of jacks out as well other than that haven't seen too much action on the beach

Hit the beach Friday morning at sunrise. Super rough lots of wind and weeds not really good conditions at all but managed to pull some jacks this one being the biggest. Nice fight on my spheros 3000 with 15 lb power pro.

Sweet. Jacks on light tackle at dawn.
