Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2014
8-3:30pm
Mostly black drum and sheephead at the end of the pier. There were a few being caught mid to the end of the north pier. A few small blue (barely legal and under) are caught. Only 4 pompano were caught the whole time I was there and two of them were from my party.
When tide change to outgoing, fish bite completely stop except at the end and small bluefish, catfish, and shark. There was a few big run, a stringray, and probably a bull red that was lost.
Not a great day but did get my salt fix! Until next time, go wet a line!
End count for me:
A few small sheepies, only kept one. A few black drum, only kept one. A few small snookies, all went back. A few small black margate, all went back.
My cousin got two pompanos.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2014
Fished this past week and caught some small macks and blues on the usual jigs and spoons during the daytime... some guys were catching a few big pampanos and sheeps on clams.
Starting at dusk and going into the night the BIG reds showed up on the inlet side. Heavy bucktails thrown as far as possible into the inlet side and then just let the tide take the jig out towards the ocean is the best bet you got at hooking into these beasts. Bring some heavier tackle for these guys, the average was about 30 pounds +++.
Tight lines, TT

Some really nice fish there
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Zilch yesterday, windy and the inlet was churning something fierce after lunch. Saw more birds caught than fish. Packed up and went to happy hour to drown my sorrows and make a game plan. Went off the beach last night and got into some nice spots around 10. Headed back out to the beach now for some whiting and blues.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2014
Passed on fishing the inlet Wednesday as I hate fishing in a crowd, instead I went up the beach a little ways to Floridana Beach. Good choice! Killed, I mean killed the bluefish, spanish, and jacks. Using 3/8-1/2oz jigs (red and yellow) paired with 3" pink gulp swimming mullet or 4" white pogy and a bronze and orange 7/8 gotcha. Took me back to old days of fishing the outer banks. Using a little light outfit with 6lb mono made for a very fun afternoon. Didn't use a leader at all so there a few bite offs. They're currently doing beach re-nourishment so there was some equipment on the beach but it didn't interfere at all.
Great little tackle shop an A1A, Big Robs, super nice guy and decently equipped. Shared some local knowledge and didn't us like out of towners as is sometimes the case.

Fish there around 4pm - 6:30pm... Not much was going on at the inlet...
A few blues, macks, jacks... on spoons...
Saw a big sheephead caught.
I got my first keeper snook of the year today along with a nice black drum... picture will be upload soon. Snook was 28.25". Barely made it.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2014
No problem, throw a jack as far into the outgoing current as possible off the south side rocks at the end. Free spool all the way into monster hole engage the lever to light 4lb drag with clicker on and wait.
