Even though the tropical storm was a complete bust many of us decided to still go to the pier on Saturday and hope for the little rain bands to bring some snappers in. We started off slow and Ron and Ricky started working the mangroves under the pier, they could have had their limit if they kept all the 10.5 inch snappers they caught, but they only kept the bigger ones. Nelson got his mutton and had a nice hookup with a tarpon. Ricky and I lost two nice hit with what we believe were some muttons with shoulders on them. I also lost a small cuda and a spoon. I ended with a dog snapper, a mutton, and a jack crevale (this time no Jack shoevally's were caught as they seem to have moved on). As always was great to fish with the crew :toast: Here are my entries and some extra pics:

The fish look good, you guys were working them and got a couple of break offs for the next trip.
That sunset was exceptional down here too on saturday, while on the 7. The fish didn't bite as well as they did up there though.Hooked a couple of tarpon and kept one grover.

Dog snapper is one of my favorite of the snappers to eat.
Nice work guys.
I was there sat 2am and left about 9-10am.
Not much action. Lots of jacks in the surf but I fished the T.
I had a big chunk of bonita that was untouched. Even the pier rats said the muttons weren't chewing. I seen a puffer caught. Puffer yeah!
I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned

It just happens that the force was with us and in the bait we were using. I heard about the jacks so we stayed until just after sunrise, they came by and I just happen to have my spoon in the water when they did :D They were on the small side but still fun to catch.

Yeah John we are due a trip back down agian, keep having fun with the tarpons man! :toast:

Thanks man and you are right it sure isn't as easy as it looks. I had same situation with a school of 10 pounders a couple of weeks back, they were following my lure and out of no where it got hit by a Tarpon instead. Good luck to you this week. :toast:

Po0n nice meeting all you guys out there at Anglins man. :toast:
