So I've been going to Dania for some time and every time I go there I see the same guy at the T catching flags...... so every time I go I see what he has =
He uses a 2oz weight
About 3ft leader
And casts about 80ft always from the bridge ( on the right side, bottom corner)
I myself never tried it but the guy always seems to be catching flags all the time so if guys ever go out there give a shot
P.S.= he hooks his bait from the top and usually uses sardines 4-6in

I have seen that guy out there. He uses a cast net at night to get bait.

rare, i've been out there this week a couple times. Nice tails, but not "flags". But they are big ones, especially for a pier...i saw someone catch a nice one that looksed like 2/3 lbs the other day on the bottom....but its belly was full of about 1lb of pilchards lol
and grouperking....just do that...sabiki up pilcards and tie up a bottom rig or two and cast them out and see if they hit. You can also try under the pier for mangroves, i caught a couple of nice ones the other day there with live pilchards on wednesday
