Re: how bout we all post our snook catches here
Finally headed out last night... Man what a beautiful Harvest moon.... Final tally, 3 keepers (released all but one at 30 inches) Jumped at least 3-4 tarpon (they are still around). Lost a BIG mama, she landed on the leader with that sharp plate and cut 80 LBS Mono CLEAN! Was a hell of a sight though! Pretty cool night. Headed out at 9:30ish and back home right before 1AM. Mostly driving, the fish I caught within a 30 minute span around my area.
Mr GK taught me well! I am curious to see how the abundance of mullet (they are starting to show up slowly) will change the Jig game, if at all!
Just got a pic of two of the keepers. The first one was with the front facing camera (yeah... horrible, but didnt wanna beat her up more than necessary)
Either way! Now, I get to go and clean the stiff remains of mr snookems! Looking forward to those fillets!

Bro, you should make a flare hawk from your beard hair. It would be a snook killer! lol

Re: how bout we all post our snook catches here
Just to clarify.... I kept ONE fish lol. I meant to say I caught 3 SLOT fish... I was talking to Joe about it. i tend to keep just one per season, depending on grandmas request (she uses almost EVERYTHING) Makes soup out the spine lol! Whatever, fish arent my cup of tea eating wise. Dull small knife, had to be an artist with it... still not too much waste!

Re: how bout we all post our snook catches here
Ok! Went fishing Thursday night with Chevy Juan. I will keep it very brief and just post pics, he can add the rest. Ill eventually do a mashup of video, I have not had time, very busy!
We lost a few fish more in between us and I leadered a big tarpon (~ 70 lbs estimated, could have been 100) It was a big fish. I have video fighting her, but gotta cut / edit it. All in all very cool trip, we found them at ONE spot. The other spots were not on fire or had people at them. My fish was well over slot, althougth didnt bother to measure. His was 33" which disqualified her for the dinner table. That ends thursday night.
Friday night, I called up my old time buds Gonesharkfishin and Linesider (Brad and Marcus) and we rode out. We hopped around a bit till we got Brad on a fish (which Marcus photobombed!) Love hanging with my old peeps, good times always regardless of what we do. The fish measured 26'' and we didnt catch anything more at that spot... However, the crazy thing is this, we found this lodged in the mangroves, very eerie....
Yes... its a raft... Made of foam and wrapped tightly with a canvas to make it take the shape of a tiny boat.... It was crazy, all their stuff was there, including untouched food and a few other things... Considering the weather the last week, you must be real mad to make that trip on such a vessel... However necessity is the mother of all ingenuity, and all things considered it was well made. Had a rudder and even inside "cooler". Sail was also made from a mylar material. I believe they got popped offshore and then the coasties let the vessel float with a spray tag on it, or maybe they made it... who knows. Point it is that it was crazy to find this out there when it was no there like 10 hours before...
Moving on, went to our next few spots and I hooked up with another overslot fish (34" this time) while Brad hooked a decent tarpon that shook the hook before we could get our hands on her. I also jumped at least another 3-4 tarpon, missed a few more fish and got broken off a time or two. Brad also lost another snook at the rocks. Marcus jumped a tarpon, but the snook eluded him this trip.
All in all was another awesome night of laughs and rants, good amount of hazing and tool references! Looking forward to fishing with my buddies once again very soon. I have some video here and there, but need to put them all together, especially the one of the raft, gives you a better feel for it. Crazy stuff!

got that itch yesterday to get on that thump
so i took the boat out i got soo lucky with bait as soon as i left the ramp i came accross a few solid pods of finger threw the net
blamo
enough fingers to fish with no worries
so i went about my fishing got 3 30in fish by 9 not a bad start to the night
got a call from my buddy drew around 10 asking if i was on the water so i told him to come on out he brought nelson so we headed right back out but when we were leaveing the ramp i noticed a guy fishing on the far dock now ive seen him a few times fishing out there so i decided to ask if he wanted to come well ofcourse he jumped at the chance turns out he is a super nice guy
