Are these both spanish macks or is that bottom one a king?

Bottom looks like a King with the dip in the lateral line.

Haha thanks dude, that song is catchy as hell, great cruising music. The mullet were getting busted up left and right.

I was out again last night, lots of mullet rolling through, but not much on them.

Suppose I should have checked the obvious place....fwc website. If I go by the FWC description, and take it literally, they were both spanish mackerel due to the front part of the first dorsals being black as black can be (might not be 100% obvious in my pic because the dorsal is folded down, but when extended the first half of the dorsal was black). However I still have doubts due to the lateral line dipping at the second dorsal. Any fish nerd experts out there to confirm?

They looks spanish. The lateral line of the second fish doesn't drop that sharply. The fish just looks a little bent...
If it is a juvenile king, the lateral line drop needs to be lower than the half of body line...
I caught a few kings and released them... their lateral line drop was so obvious...no question about it.

Thanks for the video Chris.

not the mass influx along the coast anymore if thats what you mean. They are definitely still around the canals and ICW. I speak only about Miami beach as that's where i live. It torments me to see them and also be in a doctoral program with no time to do anything for myself but study and work. I'm off most of next week from school and work if anyone wants to link up.
