This is a roll the dice deal......They used to sell a test kit & last place i saw it was 5 years ago was crooks and crooks. I read they discontinued production of the kit because of the high production cost. As of now there is none that i know of. Good luck..but this hits in the first 6hrs to 8hrs if you do get it.

yeah bro i saw the kit and looked it up.. i dont get why cuberas are targeted or blamed for this the most.. i mean all fish liek snapper and grouper should be equally dangerous id think..... if thats teh case... this one was caught in shore but that doesnt mean it wasnt out on the reefs etc... he is 26 inches... figure my blue coleman cooler he is wall to wall inside that.... i usually do not worry botu this stuff but i have heard mroe chatter abotu cig and cubera than any other fish beside cudas

I personally wouldn't worry too much about a fish that size fish. Cuberas get the rep because they get huge and can collect the toxins over time. If you're paranoid, give some to your neighbor and ask them how they feel the next couple days lol.

A study preformed by a research center determined that the Ciguatera test kit did not perform as advertised. (false negatives). In other words, the kit did not work effectively and never did !

They got him on an IV now. He said it feels like a truck is hitting him every 30sec. The bad is not even there yet the Doctor told him. He is vomiting but not as bad. He can't hold down anything and is dehydrated and that's why they have him on an IV.
