I've fished the beach a couple of times but you usually get kicked out within 30 mins. I've fished with live shrimp on a trollrite and caught cuda small permit and bonefish there. The park rangers kick you out fast though

that would be pier8. You shouldn't have a problem getting it on weekdays but on weekends you better be there before the park opens

thanks guys. im going to head over there tomarow morning. i will have a report for you guys when i get back.

have you guys ever thrown out a bag of chum? i alwayz chum the water where ever i go.
im guessing high tide is the best time of day to be out there. right? so p8 is where all the fish are at huh?
for bait im going to use

live shrimp
very small pieces of frozen shrimp on chiken rig (for bait fish)
silver sides (snappers love these)
squid (even tough i dont use this that much)
and im going to throw out some crank baits

i know you guys use chunks of hoo's but im going to skip this till next time if nothing i do works.

Going to Baggs probably around noon today to catch some shark bait and whatever else bites.

All the piers are good in different ways, P8 has a sweet grouper spot and theres some heavy duty grovers down there on high tide. Chum if you can its definately a +. I usually dont chum and do pretty well but the chum will help on a slow bite.

Start out at P8 and try casting close to the pier, id say cast 2 rods on either side of the platform about 10 -15 feet off the furthest rock you can see that is by the platform. Then just fish a bait down by the rocks on a rod you have in hand.

By the way if you catch some jacks, blue runners, bluefish anything that you wont eat please give me a call (305) 479 - 3591 and ill go pick it up, i need some fresh bait iced down for saturday just incase the bait at the bridges is not cooperating.

Use some ballyhoo bro definately worth it. Pass by crook and crook on the way and they should have some fresh ones, if they dont, dont buy frozen. Just buy squid and once you catch some bait(grunts, pinfish, sand perch, etc) cut those up into chunks or fillet them and use that meat.

Yea the first time i heard cobia and permit being caught from there im like wtf!
But youd be surprised what people catch there.
Maybe about 6 months ago we were the first car into the park and went to P4 and there was a guy there. He said he had stayed all night fishing there(which is illegal) but what the heck. He showed us his cooler and it was mangrove mania, some big ones too, i think the smallest was around 14 inches. He also had a cubera which was around 23 inches.

I wish they would open the park at night.

Got to the park at around 1:30 and had to leave by 3:20 to pick up my gfs sister at school.

Sea was pretty rough and it was windy as heck. I passed by crook and crook on the way there to get some squid and a tube lure for the cudas. Well as it turns out i was trying to get jacks but the only bites were coming from tiny baitfish maybe small grunts or pins and i didnt even catch any since my hooks were meant for jacks.

Spent about an hour and a half there and nada, but o well thats how it is sometimes.

There's usually always Snook around somewhere along the seawall. Try a trollrite with live shrimp casting towards the rocks from each platform

went out there friday afternoon, weather was not good very cloudy and cold. caught a eel, yellow grunt, and undersized grover. i did see a couple sea trout chasing a crank bait i threw out, also a blue runner or bluefish. i lost the crankbait tough under a rock after a couple of cast.

by mistake i left all other bait at home so i only took out live shrimp with me and a block of chum. a bigggg yellow eel was chillin with my chum bag under the dock. nastyyyyyyyy

live shrimp, I hate to talk about ''the one that got away'' but just before catching this one i lost a fish that was bending my powerstick rod to the max, i fought it for like 45 sec then the hook came out of its mouth :|

There's always that "one" that gets away.
If You don't mind sharing, what platform where you fishing, seems you were on the seawall by the pics

Nice hogs, really cool to see that you got 2 in one trip on shrimp, that's sweet...and delicious

sea wall all the way, i never use the piers, sea wall is more productive imo however be prepared to use from 5 oz to 8 oz of lead, where there's current there's fish coming in and out.
