Thanks Bolo! Yeah that was back in 2004 but been fishing it since the late 90s. :dude: How you been?
Yeah, I remember seeing monster Snook on that pier. I never fish for them back then. Things are going good. Just waiting for Spring to arrive. Enough with this cold weather. Catch anything worth bragging? :D
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Sunny Isles Ocean Rescue has confirmed a building contractor is on site and began demolition of the old pier. Word is the new pier will be constructed with a lifeguard tower similar to California piers. Still no date as to when it will open for business.

Is it still slated to open in late 2011? Shame, I'm going to be staying near it in July and wanted to spend some time there fishing :(

Here is some Info

Construction stopped due to Turtle season but the city has gotten clearance to start back at it and a permit has been agreed upon for construction to continue through the year even during Turtle season.

So work will resume with in 30 to 60 days.

I may have more to post later

Cool, thanks for the update.

When I was up there about 2 weeks ago, it looked like they had, at some point, demolished the part that connected the pier to shore and nothing appeared to be going on.

It's been a while since I've posted on this board. Hope all are good! I cannot wait for Newport to open up again. I haven't been able to fish as much as I use to since Newport closed and I'm looking to get back there with my family!
