ok guys so im setting up a trip on Fish N Tales out of Ft Myers for the first week of the season. the plan is to leave the dock sat afternoon. sleep on the 70 mile ride out and fish when we arrive. The capt plans on a slow chug out to save the cost of fuel and so we can get some decent rest. The plan is to limit out on Red snapper,gags and red grouper. we will be fishing approx 130 ft of water.

The trip accommodate 6 people I have confirmation from 2 so far so I will be starting roster here on this thread. The cost is 1800 split between 6 people plus tip. I will drive and can take 4 people max. i figure tip and all the trip will run 350 per person

The boat has a refrigerator and microwave. the bunks are in the hull of the V as well as in the wheel house. I found the floor most accommodating. they also have a keurig for some rocket fuel in the morn.

There will be 2 captains on hand. this means it is considered a double trip so double bag limit applies. 8 reds each 2 gags and I believe 6 reds if you already have 2 gags.

we leave at 4-5 pm on sat and return sunday evening.

negative on the web site. he just text me they do zero advertising. the boat is Fish "n" tales out of fish tale marina in fort myers. owner is the capt who is taking us out whos name is scot.

The capt actually calls or text when he has open walk on spots for his 10 and 36 hour trips.



I have no doubt that this trip will be very good being the first weekend of red snapper season, I think we will be very happy with what we bring back to the dock

Phil, it looks like we won't able to keep any red snapper. I don't think I will go on the trip anymore. Sorry.

So no red snapper now ( is this confirmed, I looked and can't find it) and no amberjack , so its a grouper trip. Becoming less and less worth the time and effort. The management of the Gulf fisheries is a Birds and the Bees joke. I may stick to the Keys that weekend if this is true.
