Yeah the reds have been tricky.
The gulp shrimp has been working on the real finicky ones.
When they're laid up or tailing I like to go with the gulp.
When they're cruising pretty quickly, I throw the flappin' shad.
They've been really weird at times though.
Where they pass up on a perfectly placed gulp shrimp.
So we realized when that's the case, hit them on the head.
Just literally hit them on the nose and get the reaction bite.
We've found them where they're spookier than bones, but then found them where they'll eat anything thrown their way.
One of those days, my buddy hooked a red, lost it about 15' off the bow.
He just gave the gulp a quick little jerk and it slammed it again.
The red came loose again, then he gave it another quick jerk and it nailed it again.
Then he lost it again boatside and it was gone....lol
that was one HUNGRY fish. lol
