Well guys We had a blast, the excitement level was at a all time high today, We met at the ramp at 6 sharp, Loaded up and off we went. we spoke about diff jig types and how they fall the slow pitch thing and where to throw, now the details.....


We get to the first drift and I set up to see where we are going, We drop in to test the waters and play around, all of a sudden on the retrieve Francis get hit by a screamer! he starts going to work and the reel fall soff the rod! he quickly put it back on and get her in 18# black fin! we stoped fishing after for a lil to wait the rain out, it started pouring so we gathered to one side and waiting.

Once we started jigging again things were slow, All of a sudden Francis says Dolphin! we get swarmed by peanuts! out of the 5 we picked up out of this school only 1 was a keeper. as the day went on we were greeted by 2 more schools with them only holding one more keeper. the Lead man got a nice sized almaco as well

Now we set up our last drift, I have had ZERO action on the jig personally all day long. We pass the wreck and im hit, fish on!! Lock her down and rip her up I start seeing color at about 75ft and its big, I get her close and its a smoker king! The fish sees the boat freaks out and does circles, Francis sinks the gaff and on the boat she goes! My personal best @34# weighed at the corner store on hypoluxo.

Thanks for taking us out man, enjoyed the vertical jigging more than I thought I would to be honest. Got a much better idea of everything now.

Yep... That long jerker jig is just too hot...I lost two already at first five drops...and Jared lost one....King just can not pass this jig...
I am so happy you caught monster King with it... It has a uneven diamond-shape cut, mimicking a injured ballyhoo.

I just don't get it ......No offense but Phil is such a scrawny lookin' dude to be the JIGMASTER on the entire forum and he is the starting quarterback for sure. Please tell me there is a video of him whipping the mean looking King.

You can put an assist hook on a butter knife and tuna/kings/AJs will crush it. Shiny+ erratic motion= bites. Nice king too.

Fell off the rod??? did u get that on video??? lol must have been classic

na he was turning the handle and pop. he put it back on and a tuna popped up

If that was an aj I would have been toast. I fogot to turn on the gopro for a tuna footage.
