Hello from near Jensen Beach

My family and I have been in Florida for nearly a year. We moved down from West Virginia. I used to do a decent amount of Trout and Bass fishing up North. Nothing serious though. Just a great excuse to enjoy the outdoors and force my daughter to spend some time with me.

Anyways, we haven't done any fishing since we have been down here. We hope to start fishing in the next month or two. Not really sure where to start with poles, tackle, etc. We can learn along the way. That's half the fun for us.

For the most part we catch and release but occasionally we like to eat what we catch.

One place to start is vittolo family park, just a few miles south of the Ft. pierce inlet on the indian river. There are two entrances, I think only one is open, drive to the end of the straight gravel road, and you will come to a viewing tower, you can start wading north or south from there. If you dont mind walking a little ways, Bear point park, just north of Vittolo, is real good also. You will need to walk on the gravel trail, a little ways past the fishing pier. Great topwater action at sunrise and sunset. i live in the Hollywood area and i try to get up there a few times a year.
