Yellow Jack bag limit? (not Jack crevalle)
anyone know what the bag limit is for Yellow Jacks? I'm not talking about the other ugly bad tasting Jack Crevalle, I'm referring to the tasty amazing sashimi Yellow Jacks. I heard that it is an unregulated species, which would mean you can only take two or up to a hundred pounds, whichever comes first? That would seem odd that unregulated species would have such a skimpy bag limit. We were catching them the other day and kept four, there were three of us but we could have kept more as we seemed to be in a patch of them but we released the rest. I sort of regret it now since I just had some as sashimi and well what can I say? Soft, buttery, smooth, amazing...I want more...!

You are allowed 2 fish or 100 lb of fish per person, whichever is greater... where I fish people only kept the larger ones pushing 10lbs.. i believe if you go spearfish they can push 30,40 lbs

They can get pretty big, but the bigger ones have worms like every other big reef dwelling jack. They are pretty tasty though.

This is from FWC web site.
Default Bag Limit for Unregulated Species: Two fish or 100 pounds per person, per day -whichever is more. For smaller fish like white grunt, the limit is 100 pounds regardless Lionfishof the number of fish it takes to reach that total weight. For larger fish such as the southern stingray, if you harvest two fish that have a combined weight of 150 pounds, that is your limit for that species. This bag limit does not apply to lionfish, which may be considered an unregulated species. Lionfish do not have a bag limit
