Robalo--I know exactly what you're talking about. Up my way, the surf Snook are definitely better eating than the ones that are caught up in the rivers and around the docks and such.

The same goes for Redfish in my opinion. It's funny how their color changes too. I've seen em nearly white/silver in the surf, then back on the flats and in the rivers there as dark red/bronze as they can get.

Yep, I remember catching juvenile Poons out by the dike where the Sawgrass Express way is now at the end of Atlantic Blvd. Those Poons were always real dark. I'll never forget the the first one I hooked on a Rapala while fishing for Bass. Wow, what a surprise that was. LOL

This was my first snook caught a while back on a live dine on dfp. I got him on 10 lb test and a crappy walmart rod. We didnt have a net so we beached him. Srry for the poor image quality and the condition of my hair.

A couple oversized snook from Juno this past year. In all I got 12 keepers out of around 30 fish I caught last sept. at the pier. Not a bad % considering some of my friends caught more fish then me there and only got 4 or 5 keepers.

The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Heres a few. This one ate a 12" live ladyfish 30lbs weighed on bogagrip
PIC_0181.JPG
Not sure weight of this one didn't have bogagrip at the time but im guessing mid 20's she ate a live horse pilchard

all fish safely released, and just a note as seen in some of the above pics, its not good to hold large female snook by the lip, YOU MUST SUPPORT THE BELLY. Ive seen someone do it and watch her spit her eggs out. Very SAD

Ended up with 20 keepers this year off Juno in Sept. and Oct. These are a couple of the overslots during that time.
