29" black grouper, Long Key, about 3 years ago.
Bait: cut grunt
Tackle: 20 lb main line, 50 lb leader, 8/0 circle hook, standard bottom rig
I happened to be sitting right in front of the rod when it hit and the clicker went off, otherwise I never would have had a chance before the fish rocked me. Had 2 or 3 hooks in its throat and stomach.

Here's a nice juicy 16-inch Mangrove Snapper I caught off the jetty at Redfish Pass last month.

Image

I easily caught five this size. These Snapper were hitting way off the jetty in a current break way out from the rocks. Look how silver/white its color it. Believe it or not they were caught while fishing for Snook on an Owner 1/0 Light Mutu circle hook with a live shrimp hooked through the horn. They were freight train'n the bait like a Snook and hooking themselves. I've never caught Snapper like that before.

I think its a 7 foot Bass Pro Shops Ocean Master IM7 graphite, medium-heavy...from what I understand, these blanks are made by Star Rods for Bass Pro. I wish it had a bit of a longer butt though.
