Stargazer Weird Fish

Post by rshields »

Caught this on a freelined mullett under the pier yasterday at Anglins. Lucky for me my friend was there to tell me not to touch this guy because he would knock you on your ars will a jolt. Didn't get my own picture because I wanted to get him back in the water but really a cool looking fish. Picture is from the web but about the same size in the 3-4 pund range

The physical features and the adaptability of the stargazer fish are exceptional indeed. These species can cause harm to humans with their venomous spines which can discharge up to 50 volts of electricity. Usually if humans approach them they do not cause any harm, unless and until they are disturbed. [/size]

Nice looking fish. That treble hook nailed him perfect

The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Funny enough, after I said that I never caught one before, I got a big one at Anglins last weekend, about 3-4 lbs.

That's where the thread started... Anglins is where I caught mine. Rob said he has caught quite a few there. Weird fish for sure.

I saw something similar to this while surf fishing on Longboat Key last weekend. Not sure if it was one and the same... Is it common for these guys to come in shallow?
