Caught this on a charter boat last week about a mile off Ft. Lauderdale. Was caught on a live goggle eye. Measured in at 89".

Yes that was the only one caught on our boat. I was using one of the boats spinning rod/reel to be honest I have no idea what kind it was or the line that was on it. Here are some more pictures of the fight. Maybe you guys can tell from the pics.

Thanks guys.....is 6500 baitrunner a pretty decent reel? It's on sale at dicks for like $119. I do a lot of surf fishing and the first reel I bought was a Opus 5000 last summer....but I want to replace it soon.

Come to think of it I have had my reel for a long time too and with no problems. I guess mine is about yrs old and works like a charm. Maybe ill just get a 6500 on a stronger rod. That outta handle some stuff.

The 6500 is a great reel Mine has landed numerous snook up to 30 lbs. to many big tarpon to count , 50 lb. dolphin, and loads of sharks up to 150 lbs. I love the freelin e feature when fishing on piers or bridges.

I love my 3500, and I like using my 6500 for bigger fish. The features are great... Im thinking of getting the 4500 just to round out the collection.

Well I guess this is the Sailfish page then. Nick got this off Juno, he popped it off at the side of the pier but it didnt make it so I snagged it off the bottom and we brought up and smoked it. Caught on a Gog.

I've got a pair of 4500's...I like them quite a bit. $119 sounds like a good deal to me, I paid quite a bit more than that for my 4500's. A quick google "shimano 6500 baitrunner" will show you the cheapest price though.

Nice one. I still haven't caught one yet.

I've watched 2 pairs come up and swat the bait only to swim away hooked up to watch him jump off and had 2 lines go off on the kites and the one I picked had a 5 lb tuna. The other was a sail. My day will come. Oh and I'm not complaining about the tuna either !
