Great video!
How far are you guys able to cast with those big surf rods, and what size baits and weights are ya using. I gotta learn these casting techniques so i dont have to yak the bait out when its rough!
Keep up the good work,
Blake

It really depends on how far you cast. If its windy, you may only be able to cast 20-30yds. If its calm you may be able to cast 50-70yds. I use baits no larger than a credit card, I've caught 6ft sharks on pieces of fish as big as a quarter. I use 6oz pyramid sinkers on my rigs and make my rigs around 7ft. I hammer my sandspikes in the ground with a mallet and keep the drag tight when I put the reel in the spike. I keep it tight enough that when he grabs the bait, that hook is already in the side of his jaw, but not too tight that the rod will fly out of the spike. I only use circle hooks when I'm casting and I hook 10 out of 11 sharks everytime.Bsmith48 wrote:Great video!

Re: Aaron Bunch Catching A Blacktip
we should meet up next time we are both down in florida. I got a place right on the ocean in Golden beach, near hollywood. You should come down and check it out, or ill come up your way. The past 2 times i have gone out for sharks on my beach, the sharks were biting good. I used the kayak and placed the bait a few hundred yards out though. Let me know if you want to meet up at some point.
