The tournament is going to be bigger and better than ever! We are going to have bigger sponsors and more prizes to be won! 75% of the entry fees will be given out as prize money! The more anglers that enter, the bigger the pot is!

Summary of Rules

• The Blacktip Challenge is a catch and release tournament.
• The dates of the tournament are January 30th to February 3rd.
• Entry fee is $65.00 USD.
• Registration with full payment of entry fees must be made before January 16th, 2013.
• The dates of the tournament are between Wednesday January 30, 2013 and Sunday February 3rd, 2013. The anglers meeting will be held on Wednesday January 30. Fishing will start on Thursday January 31st at 12:01a.m and will end on Saturday February 2nd at 11:59p.m. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday February 3rd.
• The first two sharks caught by any angler must be tagged. Anglers are required to return their unused tags and their completed tagging cards back to Tournament officials.
• The geographic fishing boundaries of the Blacktip Challenge will stretch north and south from St. Augustine to South Beach.
• Anglers can choose either to participate in a team or to compete solo. The maximum number of anglers permitted on each team is three (3). Each member of a team is required to pay their own entry fee.
• Anglers under the age of 18 must have a parent and/or legal guardian's consent to enter the tournament, and their parent and/or legal guardian are required to be present at the anglers meeting.
• All fishing must take place on the beach!
• All sharks and fish must be caught on rod and reel.
• Scoring will be determined by the estimated weight. This weight will be calculated by using the estimated weight formula (Fork Length x Girth^2 / 800).
• All participants must abide by Florida State Fishing Laws.
• The use of chum is prohibited.
• All species of sharks will qualify for points except nurse sharks.
• Every qualifying shark must be a minimum of 60 inches (5ft) in overall length.
• The following measurements are required for every shark/fish to qualify for points: overall length, fork length, and girth.
• Anglers must submit the following photos for every shark/fish to qualify for points: (1) Angler fighting/"reeling in" the fish with the rod and reel (rod tip must be visible in photo), (2) Angler behind the fish holding the Blacktip Challenge flag in front of the dorsal fin (middle of body), (3) a photograph of the overall length measurement, (4) a photograph of the fork length measurement, and (5) a photograph of the girth measurement.
• All photographs submitted must be 6 megapixels (MP) or larger to qualify for points. Blurry or pixelated photos will not be accepted!
• All photos or other required documentation of contending fish must be submitted by no later than 9:00 a.m. EST on Sunday February 3rd.
• All anglers must return any unused tags and any completed tagging cards to tournament officials by the end of the awards ceremony.

Is this the first time you guys have gone all the way to South Beach? I believe plenty of folks down south have been waiting for that.
The tournament has the same boundaries as last year.

Ill be fishing it, joining mike and ryan of the infiniti fishing team... looking foward to it, should be fun.
