Can anyone give me an opinion on these reels ? The specs are great , but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them .

Re: Penn ssv10500
I have the live liner on the 760 slammer. Great for catching 5 -6 footers. Light enough to make it a challenging fight but strong enough to keep things realistic. Ive been checkin out that 10500 ssv too. Read alot of good reviews. The smaller models have the live liner feature as well but reviews are consistent that the 2nd drag breaks fast. But the 10500 is lookin tempting...twice the line capacity and twice the max drag as my slammer. If you get one, let me know how you like it. Also how it casts...something i do like about my slammer is that its small enough to just take surf fishing if im not goin after sharks that day or to cast shark baits out at night when i aint goin in the water. But im kinda skeptical how well a 3lb real like the 10500 can cast.

Yeah I haven't heard good things about the new spin-fishers... Be careful if you are getting one..

i bought a 3500v combo from basspro, it was tuff turning the handle at times, until i opened it up and moved the grease around, and its all good, great drag too,
