Mary Lee... 16.5 feet, 3500 lbs, mature female Great White

So, it's been a little while since I've posted anything to the forum. I figured I'd wait until I had something big to contribute.

Thought I'd pass this information along for those "catch & release" boatless shark anglers.

Especially those who like to fish the surf from the shoreline or surf line.

A Great White Shark is in the Jacksonville area SURF. Yes, I said SURF.

If you get there quick enough, and get lucky, it could be possible to hook that bad girl from shore. All 3500 pounds, she is 16.5 feet long. Her name is Mary Lee.

I believe it to be the winter haunts for them... Also, I truly believe they go much further south on the gulf stream, they are not uncommon in the waters off the Caribbean. Being as she is a very large female of breeding age, I would consider keeping a close watch on her, maybe they can uncover their mating habits! It is important since these fish take so long to reproduce. Given that there is none of their "natural prey" down here aka Seals, they must have babies on their minds...

Well there's 2 of em being tracked. Mary was actually just off the beach in like waste deep water. The other has stayed off shore quite a ways. But yeah Rory, hard to believe theres only 2 of em. Can't say here, but they seal hunt in packs.
