Lauderdale flyfishing

Post by alba »

Hi Guys,
I am totally new to the forum and am looking for information on freshwater flyfishing in the fort lauderdale area.
I reside in Scotland and am looking to holiday in Florida next May.
Any tips would be really appreciated.

thanks

If you are looking for freshwater strictly I would suggest any of the canals west of I95 in Broward County. Look at google earth and find some parking. Most of them you can walk along and through some topwater flies or Clousers. The further south you go the better your chances of Peacock Bass and other exotics. The further West you go, I personally feel is better fishing than east, but that is just my opinion. Griffin Rd/Orange Ave in Davie and further west has plenty of access and parking. Good luck. :dude:
