Once you see the hooks been swallowed just cut the line at the mouth and toss it back. The more you fiddle with the hook the worse off the fish will be.

I was spearfishing at anglins on Friday up to the third reef (white bouys for boats) and all I saw was a 12" female hog that made a great dinner that night.

Those anchor balls have nothing to do with the 3rd reef. That is the 1st reef you are looking at.

fished tonight 6 til about 12:30 am. quiet night.grunts for bait and shrimp. i had one good hit but was too far from my reel to set it. my gf caught a nice lil 12 inch grover around midnight. being she is from michigan and has yet to enjoy the pleasures of fresh snapper I kept it and we just finished eating our snack...stuffed it with lemon garlic and oregano. olive oil and rock salt and pepper outside....mmmmmmmmmmmm we ate that like cave ppl. was a lil rare as i have never done a whole fish but hey its fresh so SUSHITIME!!!. great flavor she loved it. now she knows what it is all about. ill post a pic so she can gloat later. oh and i stood and watched her fumble her drag and reel doing what i taught her in the real situation, she did good.

GOOD JOB BABY!

Fished from about 4pm to 8:30pm yesterday. Nothing being caught by me or anyone else. No bait around either. Mine and my son's brief pier/inlet fishing score now stands at....
Fish-10, Us-0 Disappointed but not discouraged!!

yeah skee yesterday was calm and flat for the most part. the moon was fully lit which is no good. i noticed the ripples of would be waves were not even rolling into shore but rolling north bound. I at least got to practice casting with my messed up hand and did ok with it so that was fun

ok since we always forget the real cameras i took this with my phone so its a bit dark:P but here is my girls first keeper snapper. like I said he wasnt fat or anything but he was 12 inches exactly so i grilled him whole and she loved it. Team Michigan's(her team) first Snapper. oh and we renamed margate's ... margarette's.lol

the bait girl/snapper killer is from Belleville, MI. moved here to be with me in Feb, what a long and fun drive we had for 3 days!!! she has caught margate etc and that mutt that was too small. so this one had to be taken home and enjoyed. i kissed the fish for his earthly givings lololol.

ya know man I should have taken some pics. it looked nice...grilled it for bout 16 minutes on low/med. we picked at it in the plate.kinda weird getting the meat off after cooking, but all things come with practice....next time i cook anything i will post pics. shoulda done prep pics and grill pics.
