I heard the swords were going off at DFP last night. Everyone needs to get their hydroglows and 80W's and get over there.

Rob762, are you calling out Zach aka Fishnchicks? The Master fisherman of DFP. :D

Wouldn't surprise me, I've seen "regulars" using baby snappers of all kinds for bait. Snapper, sailfish, what's the difference.

Close the Beaches!

Wouldn't be surprised with the funky weather patterns that the stream has been influenced in some manner to get the blue water fish close. Maybe the stream is closer. Maybe its warmer than usual. Mako's are rare even in their known range. That range includes Florida.

8) No they aren't. But, I doubt they are swimming close enough in to be seen at fishing piers down here.

I saw somewhere a vid of some guys catching marlin from shore off some cliffs. I think it was New Zealand. Amazing!

first of all... great catch and from a pier. second, makos aren't known to come close to the beach but i wound say one hasn't. there caught in the gulf side shore bound every now and then so perhaps a fish can patrol near our shores in search of bait to.

:stupid:

A number of makos have been caught from the beach by shark fishermen in the Panhandle and in Texas, no reason that one wouldn't come in close to shore here on occaision.
