Hit the inlet last night with James from about 9-1. Snook, tarpon and big ladyfish busting bait all over the place. I went 1/3 on snook, the one I landed was just under slot. Lost a beast on a lure. James went 3/4 on snook, one 35", one pushing 40" and a dink. Also 1 big ladyfish. Fun night for sure, I'll be out there Friday night looking for a slot fish.

Definitely had a blast last night. Full moon, perfect outgoing tide, and pilchards and mullet being busted all over the place. Didn't get a pic of the big girl. Rory had her lipped, she shook, and stretched out the hook. We lost plenty of fish to the rocks and had one fish snap the damned hook.

You look like Salty Dog in that picture. Congrats on your first Snook.

:biglaugh: @ the first snook comment. I was trying to get the light pointed up in the pic. Hence the gangsta look.

Been lots of over slots for me lately.
Yesterday I got a keeper on my second bait and then 3 overs after that.
Both bottom baits and freelining live mullet.

lol Thanks.

I was out there again saturday night from 11:00 till around 4a.m with another guy who just moved down here from Ohio and who had never seen the ocean. Fishing was anything but relaxing with the Miami crowd casting over every line put out. Add to that more seaweed then I've seen in a long time. I gave up fighting the conditions and just enjoyed putting a few beers back and watching a couple guys nail an overslot and another fish that was 27 and 3/4 inches on red tail hawks. Bait was still in the area. Didn't see any mullet, but saw schools of Pilchards getting slammed.

Saved a small tarpon from some no speakie english fahqer who was more worried about getting his hook back then he was saving the fish. I cut his line and thru the fish back in. Luckily no snook came over the side in that group.

Also had another guy walk up to the guy who caught the overslot and told him just to fillet it and put it in his cooler. We proceeded to let him know how fast FWC would be called if he tried anything that stupid.

Glad I didn't go now, no patience for idiots. Seems to be much better during the week.

Fished with Rory from 8-1:30. Beautiful night to be out. Caught one 35" Snook, a small shark, and 3 or 4 Bluefish. Everything was caught on live or cut finger mullet. Mullet and pilchards are still around. We left with the Blues still biting.
