Caught one 32" size snook tonight on 30# braid, 7' 6" MH rod, 4000 Pfluger reel, swim bait, 50# mono leader. Saw one dead snook killed by poachers smaller. They got lucky with some dead pilchards. Saw the Game Wardens bust poachers. Lots of dead pilchards laying around. Good Luck out there! :dude:

Good to hear the poachers got busted.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I CALLED THEM!!! those guys are always out there poaching. It was the same guy that was poaching muttons last time I was there. I am very happy they got caught. How many snook did they have? When I left (around 830 p.m.) they only had one (maybe a small slot). Did FWC do anything about it? Those guys are such a joke, they hide there fish in the rocks; The cops show up and then they play dumb.

ON A MUCH BRIGHTER SIDE...
hit up Boca inlet this A.M. caught and RELEASED 3 underslot, to many short strikes to count. AND ONE MONSTER TARPON AROUND 7 hit my 10'' Bomber plug. I cast to the other side of the inlet, let the tide move it about 50 yards, then start retrieving, AND BAMM, made my Penn spinner 6000s look like a zebco. after about 1 minute broke my off on the North channel marker. gave me one good look when he went completely airborn, and from a distance of around 100 yards away looked bigger than 4'.

P.S. THANKS FOR THE BOCA INLET SECTION TOM!!!!!!!

Good for calling the FWC on those morons. They caught them on the way out but they had stashed the fish in the rocks. Wardens found the fish wrapped in a yellow rain coat back on the jetty. Was sub slot. I must have just missed you. They were bragging about a jumbo snook I thought it was a large breader the way they were talking. Makes you wonder how many they have made offf with. I think it should be mandatory for all FWC officers to speak spanish.

Hit the inlet yesterday outgoing tide, evening. Water was like coffee, bait was scarce at best, and game warden was around. Caught a moonie, bluerunner, and a black margate on my bait rod  .

Hit the inlet from 7a to 8:30a. A large snook  was landed on the last cast with a white x-rap. Outgoing water was dirty. No other fish caught at that time.

So if I'm reading this right, white plugs will do the trick? I have a good number of pearl/wonderbread bombers as well as pearl x-raps that I use where I live up north for stripers...I'll bring a few when I get down your way in two weeks and hopefully they'll work on snook as well.

Anyone using plastics? I have a bunch of storm shads and an assortment of sluggo/lunker city stuff I could bring as well.

Xraps are a little pricey to be tossing around jetty rocks. Xraps, Bombers, Storm shads 4 inch no bigger, sluggos, and whatever works good. If you really want to catch a snook check out Juno Peir. Loaded right now. Will it be in two weeks I don't know.

Hooked up with a 3.5 to 4ft cuda. Great fish! :reeling: Unfortunately, lost it during the landing. Seems to be a pattern forming. Fish swam away to fight another day.

Went this morning with Snook Hunter for 2 hours caught bait and tried to freeline a few for tarpon or snook but it wasn't meant to be. Instead we cut some pilchards and caught a bunch of snappers. :reeling: Alot were thrown back but kept 3, one fat one (good tip snook hunter :thumleft: ).Water look good could have caught snappers for awhile but had to go.I think the night bite is going to be good .
