Lots and lots of mackeral and bluefish busting finger mullet. It was really dirty, really rough, and the current was ripping. You couldnt even fish for snook cause the current was going so hard and the bluefish were too solid. Even though you could get a mackeral or bluefish on just about every cast there werent any black tips around today. A decent amount of Tarpon were in the fingers. Theres a story floating around of a giant Hammer cutting a tarpon in half this morning. I saw the left over scales from the tarpon on the pier and they were huge.

Thanks for the report Chris. I hope this rough weather will push the mullet down south toward us.

Good to hear from you BBJames. Things are happening but not at the pier. People are keeping hush hush about it.

Why would people keep hush hush about good fishing ????? You can give a general area and not be specific if you don't want to share your "secret" spot.

Well we sent his friend Beachbum to the chopping block. I figure Paulie would have learned from that.

I am not very good at sharing information about Juno because it is my sanctuary, but I will give you guys a quick look into the things I have seen since Friday.

Redfish, Spinners, lure chasing/small Blacktips, crazy numbers of Ribbonfish, Black Drum, croakers, Lady's, Bluefish, Big Sand Perch, Couple Pomps, big Macks, extra large Kingfish, small snook, a freak of nature mimic octopus that convinced me it was a cobia and, oh yeah, a 200 - 300 pound marlin feeding about 1000 yards in front of the pier.

The bite is very sparse, although there are several species to catch. It takes a good amount of time to equal a good day, but the ribbonfish are entertaining the tourists.

My advise if you are fishing this week. Bring a crab or two. The water is clearing and there is decent calico crab hatch going on.

I feel so dirty for sharing so much. Maybe I should delete this post....Darn, I just hit SUBMIT.

Rob made it sound a lot better then it has been unless your into the ribbon fish thing. I got one keeper Pompano, and have seen a few bluefish. The water is has been really dirty but should be getting better soon. There has been 2 or 3 redfish a day, but there is no pattern for them and most have been accidential catches by tourists. Like Rob said there has been a wide range of species but the bite has been really really slow, about what you would expect for this transition time of the year.

Fresh water rolling in from Big O. Not much going on except a bluefish here or there, ribbonfish and a decent spinner/blacktip bite just before dark.

If it ever clears we may actually catch fish. There a good number of birds working just offshore on the color change from freshwater to salt.

I think James started a trend. Tomorrow is my last day fishing Florida for a while. I am moving to South Carolina. If all goes well I will be back in January to beat up some fish.

To everyone I have fished with on the forum, it has been my pleasure. I treasure my times fishing just below my daughter's birth. My final words of wisdom: Release more than you catch, don't judge a good day or bad day by the quantity of fish, but the quality of your experiences and share fishing with others. It is, simply put, The Best.

Wed. afternoon was pretty good with Spinners and two big kings. Yesterday there was nothing at all, except Ribbon fish in close in the dirty water.

Will be in the area the week of November 22 - 29. Any suggestions (or forecast) on what I might be able to expect?

Thanks

Hard to tell that far ahead cause the conditions change so quick. You would hope for Mackeral, Bluefish, Sharks, and Cobia. But if the water color is real bad there might be nothing but catfish.

Thanks for the reply. I would assume from what I have been reading that bait may be hard to come by. Is that common for the fall or is it possible that the bait fish may be back? Regardless, what type of lures should I plan to have?

It is hard to tell if the bait will show or not. Each day, week, or even month are different. I recommend bring jigs in different weights even 2 or 3oz jigs for big fish. Hard lures like the Yo-Zuri or X-Rap and Spoons. Bring some sabiki when you come that way you can catch bait when they do show. Keep reading the reports and you will get an idea whats going on before the week you arrive.
