This area is for Archived Pier fishing reports so those interested can go back in time and see what was being caught. This area will include all Old Pier Threads and any other fishing report threads that are archived.
ive never had an issue with a diver but kite borders are always fun to snag
also for boats, why cast a weight and risk hurting someone? thats what old baracuda and boxes of squid are for
soft or rotten round fruits and vegetables also work quite well
nailed a guy at haoulever with an old grapefruit right on the head, hes shoutin at me saying hes gonna kick my a## but he was the only guy on the boat and i was on the jetty so..............
I went out there like from 9:00am-11:00am, i think it was high tide earlier. The water was a little a brownish. I fish middle pier and got cut off twice with wire. I had a little live herring floro-small wire-#4 brown hook free lining....Let that herring run wild...and the mackarels and runners kept on coming up for it.....it got slower and slower so I took off....it's hot as hell out there...but not a lot of fish...!!......in my opinion, dont waist your time...... maybe hit dania and fight all the tangles with a million others!!!!

I did see Keith catch an 18" mutton, and someone else caught a small mac.
One of the pier-teens hooked up on a big tarpon for 4-5 jumps. That was a sight to see...
Wind from the ESE @ 10+, water brownish & murky, bait - thick....
till next time.
Rob, were they catching the gogs with crappie jig or bugs?
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

I'll try to prove you next weekend that you can catch a lot of good quality fish without using a single goggleye, this is my challenge for this coming fishfinder trip
i had a feeling that you dont need live gogs to catch snappers with. they should hit anything like threadfins, pilchards, ex.

Please post pictures of your Tugas trips to back your statement.
Best of luck RICKY proving your theory right I have far to many first hand stories to ever risk trying that. My buddy Matt just tried this last weekend and did 7 muffins none worth even taking a picture of. I will pay out the nose before I head out without some fresh gogs. Others may work at times but gogs almost always work.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.
I was up there fishing this mid afternoon. bait was thick but very little action was out there. most of the catches where blue runners and small bar jacks, but a person did manage to catch a mack up there. oh yea, and a man did hook up to a poon around 80lbs(did not land it though).
also saw many dead bait including an eel up there.
Thursday had a bunch of Runners and a good amount of Spanish with Ceros mixed in.
Yesterday, Runners and not so many Macks. Every day is a new journey. Bait is solid as usual. Snapper at night if you can weed thru the smaller ones.
A word to the poachers: Cá có kích thước giới hạn dumbazz!!
No yoyo no botella de vidrio. A mantener los peces pequeños que han ido para siempre Ole Ole'!!

Translation: Fish size limits dumbazz! No yoyo no glass bottle. To keep the small fish that had gone forever.

well... something like that according to the online translation.
Got to the pier at 11:30am Tuesday to catch the hightide. First pilchard in and a 75lb tarpon comes out from under while I'm passing my lighter to a beautiful french girl in her bikini, and crushes my bait. 20 minutes later (thanks for the help Scott) after manuvering around many poles- and almost jumping on two snorkelers too close to the tee a catch and release. Nothing much the rest of the day for me. My buddy Joe did land two nice mack's late in the day and a couple of yellowtail came up here and there. That's it.
