virus from Boatlessfishing... (whodey read)
Last night I was looking around the site and I clicked on someones sig. pic and I caught a virus. I remember Whodey's comment was "your sig. pic makes me want to puke". I don't remember what section it was in but now I am infected. Rob maybe you can remember which member you said that about.

Stop clicking on the links from the porn spammers.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Nothing yet, but it was detected. I tried to re-install my McAfee and it went wrong.
And to answer Bolo... No

if your McAfee doesn't remove it, try the free edition of AVG in Safe Mode without networking and see if it takes that away...you could also try running McAfee in Safe Mode and see if that works too

pretty much, click on it, download teh app, double-click on it to install, when you get done installing it will ask you if you want to update and run the program, just keep both boxes checked, let it do its thing, usually takes about 10-15 mins to scan, it will give you the option to remove whatever crap is on there, then it usually has you reboot. you should be fine after that. if not let me knowGO4EM wrote:When I get home to my computer should I just click on above?

sometimes you get a virus/spyware that is pretty smart and will not allow you to download that malwarebytes app, it will close yoru browser or redirect you to another site

yeah that's pretty much only if you've booted into the main OS...you can get away with it in safe mode w/o networkingdefrag wrote:tell your work to fix it, or they can give us a call http://www.thinksys.com and we'll remote in and fix it for ya. main line is 407.374.2177, leave a message and well call you right backIM CHUMMING wrote:i have a comp at work that keeps saying it has a virus, and a virus program keeps coming up asking to remove threats anyone know how i can get rid of this crap

Thanks for all the replys. We should have a tech section for computer questions. My neighbor hooked me up with some great programs that fixed the problem and pulled up my pants so I am not naked out there in cyberworld.
