A Report:

Mon - Jacks, Porgys, Margates, Sharks, a keeper Pompano
Tues - Bull Shark, Bluefish
Weds - A Tiger Shark 5ft, a Bull Shark
Thurs - Jacks, Mangroves,

I still have to look at the pics to know if they were Bulls, But those that saw it said so.

Fishing is Hit and miss right now and I expect it to change over night and the fishing will be on from there, I just don't know what night.

How long have you been fishing and catching gogs? There are several ways of catching them but for the most part they are either caught on Crappie jigs or Bugs. Take both rods and fine out.

Fished today 10 AM til 4:30 PM. It was a little on the cool side and the wind was blowing pretty decent out of the north. I caught a couple of sand perch and a 3 lb mutton.

Not a great day, but I will take it over going to work.

From what I heard, when I first got to the pier, the Jack's and the sharks were fairly heavy earlier in the morning before I got there.

Went out today for about 2 hours, nothing going on at all but a pod of gogs that wouldnt bug at all. Heard from a guy he got some bluefish, 4 gummies and he said he saw someone pull in about a 5ft tip the night before. -Connor

Went out Friday and today. Today the current was a little stronger to the North, winds were North 2-4mph with waves in the low 2/3s. Water color good but clearer in the afternoon, bait was scarce but hoos were there if you chummed / oats and bobber on a tipped gold hook. Yesterday not many hook ups and I didn't see anything being landed and a couple guys were trying under the pier for grovers with shrimp without any luck. I knew that there were sharks moving through and I thought I might hook up with one but I didn't prepare with any wire I figured if I hooked up then I would play it till it bit off. I got slammed on a whole hoo on the bottom by a blacktip running half my spool (50LB Diamond Braid) I got about 6 decent jumps out of the fish before he bit off, but man he was running like a train and it was good to get the feel of a decent fish and hear the drag scream. So I decided to wire up my rig and put a long shank J-hook-6/0 with 38lb wire connected to the 50lb braid on my Thunnus1200 which is riding on my 8'4" lumiglass rod which is rated at about 60. I got a fresh cuda head and threw it off of the North side of the "T" Now the cool part comes, we watched this shark circle by my bait on the top and go under then back on the top closer and go under then back to the top and under then Blam He grabbed the head and I set-up and fought it in, about a 10 minute fight and pictures are below. About a 70lb fish. Looked like a nurse.Great time... Today there were a few snappers caught- couple of grovers, one yellow tail and a hog by the mid-hut. Good time out there seeing a few friends and the ocean was a great site[attachment=0]IMAG0038-2-1.jpg

Cool hanging out with you today Rick, after you left I swear to god the biggest school of jacks came through going absolutely effin crazy on ballyhoo, it was one of the sickest bites I have ever seen. I mean total mayhem. Not being ready I hooked up twice on 8lb on crappie jigs with no leader and got cut off after I got them up and down. Connor got one, and kevin got two. Gave them to some guy for shark bait just before we left.
