Post by mannyman »

I Fished the ICW in Stuart on a johnboat Sunday. I caught a 22 in. 4 lbs. 1 oz. Red Fish and 2 keeper Mangrove Snappers one about 13 inches.. My buddy caught a 19 in. Spotted Seatrout and we both caught other fish including some under sized snappers. Here is a picture of the Red Fish I caught.

Thanks fellows and that wasn't the johnboat HookinSnook. lol

I don't have a pic of the johnboat but I'll get one and post it. It's basically a small metal v hull big enough for 2. Let me put it this way. We power it with a 5 hp motor and we also have a 25watt trolling motor on it.

We had over 4 dozen shrimps but must have gotten a bad batch because even though we had them airated and kept changing out the water they were dying off. So all my fish were caught on fresh dead shrimp on a small jig head on the bottom. I also had some livies under a popping cork with a split shot but I didn't catch anything on it. I also tried a white fluke on the jighead and that didn't get hit either.
