Chill guys, perfect conditions today with wind and current for what your thinking! I was there from 10am till dark, couple small macs,a few small jacks, one keeper pompano. We did locate some greenies and the gogs were there. I'm thinking to our south may be the spot. Heading to Dania to get tangled and mangled!

A late report. My favorite fishing buddy (my 5 year old) and I got to the pier around 9AM last Saturday. Very little wind and crystal clear water. Thought it did not look good but fishing with my son is better than most anything else. We always check the water past the first hut for bait. Didn't see any bait but barracudas everywhere. Then on closer inspection snook schooling all around and croakers circling near the snook. Figured you have to fish where there is fish. Well ended up with 3 croakers, 3 baracudas and a couple nice snook brought to the deck. See attached pics for one of them. I did not measure because I did not want to keep them out of the water too long. From there we went down near the T. Things were slow but we ended up catching 4 lookdowns(moonies), 2 margates and a nice parrot fish. AAlso hooked a bigger snook. Fought it for about 40 seconds and then it frayed my line and that was it. Good fight and lots of fun. So on the way out we stopped to see if we could get some more croakers. Ended up catching 6 more baracuda. My son caught 4 of them see the pics for one of his. I lost a 3 foot barracuda after about a 3 second run.
I did have a googan moment and dropped my phone in the water when I called Rob to check regs on those croakers. Other than that it was a great day to be on the pier.

Thanks guys... It definately was a great day. That poor jig. It was a bright red when we started but was mostly gray by time we finished. Not to mention the teeth marks. We actually hooked a few more barracudas that day but the hook was too small untill I switched to that red jig.
I hope to be fishing there Sunday if anyone will be there.

Nice job gatorkong.. Next time you rack up on cudas i will take then off your hands if you dont keep them. Great shark bait,i live in west pines so i will be happy to pick up from you.Now that i think about it a nice guy gave me a small cuda when i was there saturday.. Was this you??

Ok I had to plug in the USB keyboard for this one...
Went out yesterday morning bout 10 am or so with my uncle and gf...Get to the parking lot and saw Tommy. Got to say hello and meet him in the RL for the first time. Very cool. Also saw Pat out there on the pier he spotted me, lol. Good to meet some of the guys in person. Jacks came through in waves. None for us, however. I hooked up an eel from the T around 1 or so. My gf had to work at 5 and my uncle was bored i think so we took him to my sisters place off a1a at 3 30. My gf's work place changed closer to home so i said : TAKE ME BACK TO THE PIER I AM FISHING. So I stayed alone. I get back to Jacks coming up left and right. Again, none for me. I missed that wave too. Met up with some very cool people, hung out pow wowed. Andy and his ife, and brian, and Luis. Lou goes home says bites done at 8 30. Andy hooks a big ass Margate. Im looking at the sky, "please JUST ONE FISH TONIGHT!!!!??!" Nearing 10 pm, i bust out my 6 inch subway sub, we're talking, I take my second bite.......... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. throw my sub in the cooler grab, my hat flies off, my rod. Set the hook. BOOM BIG ASS TARPON. I let him run a bit, jumps twice, big fish, he is heading up toward th T. Reeling away, but didnt walk up with him enough. after about 6 minutes of fighting. he runs me up under the pilon before the T. Wrapped and snapped. WHAT A RUSH THOUGH. Bggest fish I have hooked up with on a pier. I went back to my sub with half the toppinsg left lol, Andy and the crew left, hung with Lilly for a bit. Then headed home. 12 hours to get that bite, but man was it worth it. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! pics to come in a few...

Shark Hunter. I offered the barracudas to mostly regulars. Not sure if you were one of them. My little son is always with me. You can identify me by my son. If you ever see me tell me you are there and I will keep the barracudas for you.

Yea was there last sat from 6am-12 nothin doin though. That was a nice size cud for you boy that's great. Thinking about hitting the pier sun morning or afternoon not sure. Nice report.
