Rad Permit action!! :toast: Whats that Matzoh with the Ceviche? I only got out the night before on the beach and nothing for hours and hours maybe I should've stayed later. Those simple wrapped 10 footers (not saying they're simple), Look Awesome!! :toast: :toast: :toast: I love seeing Permit.

went out for a few hours monday to see if i could get anything on some crabs, but didn't score. i started at a likely spot even though i didnt see any hanging around.
i was fishing the last couple hrs of the incoming so i was hoping for some action around tide change.
boom i look over and a repair boat is docking at the piling next to me. oh great! they werent really making any noise so i figured what the heck and continued to fish.
then the tide got real close to slack and thats when i notice the repair guys drop someone over the side for underwater work. now there is a giant dust cloud in the water and i move down 2 platforms.
i did get a small bump and lost a crab so i dont know what it was for sure.
the first time when i reeled in the top was missing and all flesh was exposed so i think the little fish finished the job . next crab
lots of people catching 10-12 inch grovers up and down the bridge.

I was in the keys monday, hated the wind. I asked at bud n marys if they had crabs but they said they haven't had any in about a week and a half. Where do u guys get your crabs? And not the ones that you get in bed. Not interested in those lol

Great job to all!! Awesome catch!! Likely you guys had a great bright moon to work with and that made it all come together. Even though, I have read here that the a full moon is not all that important for a successful night of fishing. I guess who ever wrote that was mistaken. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other?? thanks for the feedback.

Regular permit size ones. I've never seen them cheaper then $2.00 each anywhere in the Keys, most places are $2.50-3.00. Yellow bait house charges $3.50 for the bigger size ones I believe.

The funny thing is gas is always a little cheaper for me down there then it is up in West Palm or Miami. The stretch of US1 in south Key Largo, near where the Taco Bell used to be, has a couple stations that are the cheapest. I think Monroe must have a lower tax.

yea the circle k behind dairy queen is usually good and then the marlin gas station a little farther down on the left is good too.
i usually use the citco next to the new holiday inn marathon, cause the daytime guy is always in a good mood.

The gas info is as important as the fishing reports...LOL It is always more in the keys... its a long haul for those transporters.
