Post some reports for us folks that work during the week..

Went Sunday from early till about 3PM. Not much to report tried for all of the usual suspects, landed a small runner on a pomp jig, even saw a trolley out there with no takers. Current was mostly flat inching North waves were rolling light and steady. Divers and boarders were hovering less then 100 feet from the south side tearing up the reef... got tired of yelling at them and nobody else seemed to care. Couple of cudas tracking around, put two chum bags out and got a few hoos, no takers on the free lines I had out. Saw a couple rays inside without any trailers on them, threw on them anyway for practice. Landed a lizard on a zuri, scared some tarpon which were heading hard South with their GPS on. Saw a bunch of anglers smashing the greenies when they happened by with gotchas and bucktails. Greenies were hard to land but got one and sent him out for about a good hour, reeled in unharmed so I took his tail off and put him on the bottom for another hour, no takers.

8) Funny. I got a bogus report that every person on the pier hit their limits soon after the sun came up. Anyways, they are flowing down shore now. Move, stop, move, stop. You have the entire month to demolish them at some places in Broward. Actually into the 1st week into May. Happy tangles :)

:reeling: Got out Monday after sunrise, pretty crowded as school was out for the day. Good a.m. bite, blues, macs, pomps. slow afternoon :drunk: picked back-up around 4pm.Tuesday sunrise, place was packed. Sat around and watched as a few pomps were pulled in here and there, crowd cut in half about 9am and halved again before noon as it turned off for three hours. :drunk: Got a single before the storm hit, down to about 12 people now! What a front that was as we watched numerous waterspouts around the pier! Got paid as things cleared-up and the wind shifted about 5 times in an hour and the pomps came in waves  Two good days and 12 pomps to share!

Wed report a lil late. got to the pier around 4 or so. things were a bit slow not much of anything going on with the NE wind. had my pomp rig good to go. free lined a nice runner, no takers just after dark. no takers on fleas either so i put out a few shrimp around 9 30 on the pomp rig, figured maybe hit a blue or two. Beck( mygf) and I start packing up around 10 ZIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing pomp rig spinning on my thundus. she runs to it and stops like guarding it to make sure the fish didnt let go lmfao. I grab my reel and rod and set. runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnning hard i see a huge darker fish with forked black tail jump toward the shore about 20 yards out or so. KING!! i think. possibly cuda but i am goin' with king night time or not he was a monster.... starts running to the pier(it felt like pier lights were out couldnt see well) and of course i had no chance on a pomp rig with that fish. SNAP!! i was like FUDGE FUDGE FUDGE. four reels he takes the one with the pomp rig on it. My girl caught 3 nice sized margate 12 in, and 2 14in plus. I cut the smaller one up for cut bait put two nice strips full sized on bottom rigs. thundus spins a couple more times but couldnt get the hook set on the first one, and the second i didnt let him run with it long enough. all in all exciting though.

thursday morning we arrive 6:30 am. calm and clear and flat;( no one catching anything, one mac came over at like 9:30 off gotcha. that was it. we left around noon. came back at 8 for the night shift.the water was moving with the tide coming in and wind had picked up seemed like a good night in front of us, but my rods were silent with bally hoo cut, grunt cut, shrimp. nothing midpier. Gf goes to T and apparently had something she said was huge off hoo. she said she was tightening and loosening her drag and rod was bent like hell but she couldnt get him in. shes a noob but shes trying and she finally felt that rush of adrenaline and knows what it is really all about now. I explained to yell for me next time i may hear ok, and futhermore a lesson on drag and how to set it properly. so last night was fun for that. saw a hug snook,or 3 the ppl said, i saw one monster tried walking the og near lights end but he wasnt going for it. we left at midnight.

anyhow that is my mouthful of a report. oh yeah saw a nice tarpon school move through in the morning, some big boys down there about 6 or 7 of them. parrot fish all over the place. here is a pic of those margate we kept which i sliced my pinky knuckle almost to the bone last night. OUCH! its completely separated. damn that antibacterial burns on fresh wounds.hope it grows back ok, its hard to tie my knots now. lol

A king definitely did not eat a shrimp off a pomp rig...

I said either a cuda or a King. the pier lights were all OUT. My initial thought or from sight was a tarpon again, however I saw no silver shining so i changed my assessment. no silver no cuda either. the tail was forked and black and the body was darker as well, so I figured king even though i know the odds would be against it. night time and on shrimp. I saw Tommy last night told him about it and where i was on the pier. He said yeah it is possible a King would hit that in that area. I wish my gf had seen it jump was pretty big. I would say a good 4 feet in length or so. So what else could that have been?

Jump(forward and back in). dark forked tail. no silver. 4 ft long. mid pier. if anyone else has a better guess please do throw it out there.

I'm not trying to bash your catch btw..but a king eating a shrimp and not cutting you off immediately, jumping, and being that close to the pier at night is just unlikely. Could have been a big bluefish, they jump like that and eat anything.

i had a poon a few weeks ago and fought him and yeah i could tell for sure. this guy though didnt look very silver. hence why im thinking something else...but yeah that could have been the tail....either way it was huge and it took him just a matter of 10 secs of locking my reel up before he snapped it so it all happened real fast. if it was a poon i think it was the same one i hooked a few weeks ago. its an old man and the sea sorta thign for me. batman joker. lol. we have a battle going on and i plan on winning it.

Jerry; I've seen a 14 foot saw fish hooked at Anglens, A king is very possible. It's the ocean Bro, no fences or barrier's of any kind. Anything can swim up and take a bite. A king would be rare I agree. But not impossible.
Nice Boat! Now get it outa my driveway!

in this same period of time last year, me and chad one of the pier rats would go to the pier every day after school. with hearing that the pilchrids are back it could have been a king cause last year we hook many at before dark and dark. so its VERY POSSIBLE that it was a king. cts thanks for the report

3 of us went out there last Friday between 7:30pm-12:15am. A few small (bait) fish were caught but nothing to speak of. Used squid and shrimp (both dead) 75 feet from T, by a light. Side note, called pier at 7:00 and asked what type of bait they had and they said "live bait" and when we got there, nothing but frozen.... Looking for other places..
