Boca Permit 4-20-11

Post by dipydogg »

Took a walk with the girlfriend tonight on the beach saw a few guys fishing so I stopped and asked if they had caught anything. One of the guys said no we ve been out for 4 hours and hadnt gotten anything. I asked what they were using the guy said sand fleas and I was like ok guys have a good night good luck. Right as I start to walk off the rod bends over and comes flying out of the sand spike guy grabs the rod out of the sand and the fight is on. After 5-10 min he brings up a nice 20 or so pound permit, guy was so stoked. He said they had been out for 6 months trying to catch one and finally got it. Asked if I could take a few pics for the forum they were totally cool with it.

If the guys that caught this see this thread shoot me an email to barlow.chris@yahoo.com and I will send you the full size original pics off my camera.

That's not BJR, unless he went through some changes since the last time I saw him. Regardless that's a nice permit

WASN'T ME PLAYAA!! :toast: Bout time that cat caught something bigger than a whiteing, like the Osprey that hunt that beach. Well now I probly won't catch anything tomorrow on my day off. I just hope I can get a spot at my spot tomorrow. Teenangler.... changes since the last time you seen me I'm a 35 year ole geezer, no changes going on here except grey hair! Thats the Boca look, it would be easy to confuse me with him, well if I lost about 100 pounds...LOL ....I still don't know your name Permit slayer in picture, but you've met me more than once, just save me a Pabst brah. Next time I see you I'm stealing your spot!! I think I know who you are here. :toast: I can't wait to fish tomorrow sundown. LOL this is so funny.

Yeah, TeenAngler I stay in reasonable shape. Not even avatar ospreys could take my monsterous fish. Look, I have 15 lbs of permit im my freezer... CAREABOUTIT. anyway, I didn't post the report. Don't steal my spot BRJ. I fish south Spanish River Beach (as you can see by the picture), not Jap Rock, so dont worry, brah. See you in the morning (xoxo ;) )

junochris, thanks for the props. I love that mitchell 498. caught many fish over 20lbs and it's so much fun hearing that coffee ginder going to work. also, thanks dipy. i'll send you my email.

Sounds like permit and sand fleas are on Spanish River beach in Boca, I will be fishing just North of Jap Rock tomorrow morning. The sand bars and troughs that form North of Jap Rock are insane, like fish highways. I personally have caught some big keeper Pompano's at this spot. Dang, can't wait to fish in the morning.

That mitchell is on a steel or aluminum surf rod. Both are ~40 years old and were bought at a garage sale for $5 together. Fishing in a time machine. I might release the next I catch (if I'm lucky enough to get another), but that's some dang good table fare.

Got the pictures. Thanks again. That fish proves the longer you have lines in the water, the higher chances you have of getting that trophy fish. The more you go out, the more you learn and your luck gets better. Weird how that works. Thanks for the compliments. Next up (hopefully), is beach tarpon sometime this spring/summer on the ol' Mitchell.

Nice one dude. Im gonna get one in the morning...as stated earlier...nice area. Was looking at the maps and tagged a nice little exit for Dad.

I've been real happy with the fishing NORTH of Broward. I have some business to handle up there so I might try the morning bite out. If not then the evening for sure....

I had a spot closer to but got there and there was a bunch of 70 year old male couples rubbing each other down with oil. I nearly chummed the surf and left quick. Then, moments earlier a busty South African MILF stopped and talked to me about what I was going for and then invited me to a BBQ.....somewhere called adull or adolt.....then it hit me...she meant ADULT as in "adult BBQ" LMAO :toast: :dude:

Anyway...morning or evening might see some of you there...If anyone is there I will flash the universal sign of Pabst :D

I need one of those Spiderwire Backpacks...with the tackle boxes and built in cooler...perfect for bridges, pier and surf...if ya dont know check em out...sick.

Thats a pretty chitty post bro....honestly..especially when its been all business.

See you on the pond :reeling: :reeling: :reeling:
