Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Arrived at the pier around 7:00 am on Sunday and started fishing after catching some pilchard. The jacks were chasing the pilchard making it a little difficult, I lost three sabikis. I cast out between the reef and the sand on the south and after a few bait robbers my rod finally got slammed. I was tending another hit on my down rod and got an assist from one of the regulars. Managed to catch a 19 inch mutton on that one and a nice grover on the other one. Bait is thinning out compared to the previous weekends and the quality of good fish is getting better. Winds out of the northeast today and current was going south. Caught a few Jacks, a cero, 3 trumpet fish, a nurse shark and countless blue runner as well.

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Well, after posting and deciding to go to Anglins, I took the boys out and fished right before the house, had tons of fun, caught Jacks, blue runners, pinfish and some 4-6 inch snappers and grunts, using frozen shrimp. Also the highlight of the day was when my two boys caught, what looked to be a couple pompano and permit each, they were only like 6-10 inch range, but were loads of fun!! here are the photos below, I think one is a permit and the other a pompano.. could be wrong though. Also... I LOVED when FWC showed up and all the people started dumping buckets over the side of the pier... wonderful.. why are people such idiots? anyways.... here are the photos:
Thanks,
Charles

Yeah, it was great for them, thanks for the ID's. And the people dumping buckets of baby snook and pompano still got busted, it was funny to see them act like they had no clue.Boca Jetty Rat wrote:Baby pompano and a palometta. Nice catch and way to put the kids on fish.Dumping buckets wow.

If you see that happening again, tell the pier attendant. They will take care of things.cyril1974 wrote:

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
The reason they dumped is because FWC was there.. and the officers heard it and saw what was in the water and the guy got in trouble, they were there because, thank God, someone called to complain about people keeping things they shouldn't, they probably would have swept the pier and got more people, but there was some serious call they had to respond to... I over heard the conversation with dispatch. either way, I think I need to keep their number in speed dial, beach fishing has isolated me I guess, I couldn't believe the stuff all those people were trying to keep.... seriously.. not good.PhishingPhanatic wrote:If you see that happening again, tell the pier attendant. Yeah, Ladys and little jacks were crazy. Boorunnas were thick as well. Saw a couple Macs but that was about it. Water had good color. If the wind holods out Rob might be worth trying on Sat. Going back out tomorrow for another try. If the wind flips 180 it'll go off. Always good to see the gang anyway.rob762 wrote:Anyone fish today? Winds looked good....

Boorunna. Hmmmm ..... maybe worth calling in sick tomorrow. Is the limit still 5 gallon bucket per person?
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
Just got back home so this is a bit late, but I was in town for some business and had time to kill midday this past Saturday so decided to cast a bit. When I arrived there were divers around the T and it soon became apparent that they were performing a cleanup operation. So instead of starting there I began in the middle and hopped around. Mostly bluerunners and needlefish but I had about a 5 lb. mack follow my xrap to the pier.
One of the guys workin the cleanup stopped to see how I was doing, didn't catch his name, so talked for a bit then he called over another guy who just so happened to be the Boatless Fisherman himself! It was nice chatting with Tommy for awhile then he headed off.
Caught a couple small cudas on a deep diving xrap then had to leave myself. Water was flat calm and clear, so much different than it has been up my way this year. Wish I had my yak with me

It was nice to meet you Bi0tic and great talking with you, thanks a heap for the tips on Sebastian I love learning curves.
Wednesday / thursday morning
Some mullet but not much on , more spanish macks showed, crap loads jacks and some bluefish. Picked up better in the afternoon.
Thursday again a few more spanish around, Jacks, ladyfish galore, Bluefish, small blacktip and a couple of pods of mullet.
This week has been a 5 or 6 on the bf scale of fishing, still waiting on the 8, 8 means off the chain very seldom do we see a 9 and never a 10. the way I see it.
Had fun Fishing all week and thats what counts.

Re: Anglins Pier Fishing Reports 2011 "ONLY REPORTS"
I was there today from noon to sunset. Very slow. Some pods of mullet coming thru. Saw 1 big cravelle caught off one of the pods. I caught 1 keeper pomp around 6pm, some bluefish and saw some macks came thru around that time also.
