Well fishing started off great but ended abruptly around 9ish, current slow and seems to go no where. I slept in and did not get to the pier until a little after 7am and the Bluefish and Macks were coming up strong, saw a hand full of small Tarpon cruising the sandy area before the middle hut on the bottom and a King or two out past the middle hut on the south side.

I caught a few Blues and a couple of Macks but I was more social than fishing today, taking it easy want to conserve my energy for when the MegaBlast comes in the future, bring it on fish goddess.

Anyways saw some other members out today, Dave and Milly, Pat, Chris and others I can't think of sorry Great seeing you

Water is clearing so it will more then likely mellow out.

Next couple of days I would think????
Bluefish at night along with Ribbonfish and hopefully we will see a few blues, Mack, Jacks caught over the next few days until the next NE wind comes.

Got there today with Pat at daybreak. Some mullet at daybreak but they left quick. Macks were hit or miss either 5 coming over the rails or none. If you worked at it and paid attention a limit was your reward. Jacks and runners were solid in the 1/2 - 1 lb range , real pests as they would come by in a school of 50 - 100. Blues were around if you fished for them in the 1-2 lb range. I finished with a limit of Spainish 1-2 lbs more jacks and runners than I care to count and a few blues. Saw a few nice schools of tarpon . Also words to heed know the difference between Spainish and kings as the small kings were around. If you aren't sure ask someone. A $500 fine ruins a fishing trip real quick.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Amen to that chris. Been a while brother, hit me up sometime soon and Ill meet u up there for a rainy fishy day at anglins! Im usually off monday and tuesday but with a couple days of planning I can pretty much have almost any day off. As far as the kings, yeah be very careful all! They a pretty distinguishable to a weathered eye, however can fool you if you do not look at em carefully!

That is the main reason I am reluctant to keep anything I catch until I start learning to ID better!!!

I did not go this morning, Got a little sleep.

But this is what I have been told. Spanish Macks on fire from 8am until 10am and then a 11 foot Hammer swam in and the bite chilled and started to pick up around 12 noon a little. 50lb cobia was swimming around and no one had a clue and is still swimming by every so often.

Ladyfish, Jacks also around in numbers

Yeah, looks like friday saturday will bring about NE to ENE winds again, however nothing compared to the blow there was last week. Regardless, any wind from there is good as it sets the mood for stronger flows to take hold! Let us hope we get another good solid blow and well tear them up again!

I am happy to begin to get back into the flow of things... Also, lol for all the mackerel I caught, I can honestly say I lost a good 3 times as many, anyone got a suggestion for solid treble hook replacements for xraps? I need to buy a couple boxes, brand new ghost looks like an ancient specter after only one morning of battling the toothies!!!

BTW, as I ran through google looking for ghost x raps I came across this lot... They end up costing 5 bucks each, NOT TOO SHABBY!!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160663569502?ss ... 1423.l2649

I snatched one lot! If anyone knows of a cheaper place or can get some ghosts for less PM me, I want to buy enough to not care when I lose em... The thing is... With 20 lbs flouro u lose lures every once in a while, but the strikes you get WELL out weigh the losses! As opposed to ppl running wire who get 1/2 or less strikes!

oh yeah!!!..... i forgot to post about monday morning.. my gf and I had a great time fishing monday morning, it was awesome with all those ppl nobody got in any spats or anything with so many jigging at the same time. i got wrapped up with one guy twice cause of jacks and blues swimming all crazy. no problems though. good ppl and good times. Tommy thank you for helping me finally figure out my problem with my 12lb test i have had forever....works like a charm and i finally got it down... i think. hahaha 3 times he had to show me. I worked 2 pm til 4 am sunday and came home and we suited up and fished from about 5 am til almost noon(i was half awake). I went home with 2 good sized blues and my first mac, also landed a small pomp for the first time which was awesome. If i hadnt spent an hour messing with my 12lb test and learning knots i would have landed more fish. I did lose a couple big blues and two bigger macks. all in all fun times and cool ppl out there, and learned a few things too so it was a great morning and next time i will land way more fish.

Oh yeah tommy, beck said we looked like brothers out there, both with grey beaters on, blue jeans, and pony tails....hahaha go figure tom and jerry show.

Hey chance, you were right at the middle hut. I was the guy that offered you the runners for bait! Good to put a name to a face on the site! Lucky that you have a girl that likes fishing, my wife wouldn't go for the world... hehe, tight lines!

As Rob Stated scattered macks in the Morning and that continued through the day, with a few small bluefish and jacks, a couple of small mullet pods inshore deep and one past out by the tee.

Last night this morning before sunrise a lot of Bluefish and a few Mangrove Snapper under the pier.

Come here fishy fishy
