Also caught a ribbonfish jigging but I gave it away to some other happy campers. Pretty stoked about it since ive only fished saltwater for about a month now. This forum and everyone at Anglins have been great help. Thanks again!
Were you the guy fishing with the greenback X-rap, had a small packpack on most of the time?
yea, that was me.

I was the guy with the pier cart, light green t-shirt, ball cap. I left around 9:30A. You caught a couple Mac's, one was a lot bigger that the one in the photo no?

You got a couple of nice fish today!!

Yea, I remember. The 2 in the picture are the biggest ones of the day. The other 2 macks caught my girlfriend caught and were a bit smaller than that one.

Good job xmarlyx, I know you were putting your time in today, working them fishies hard. Came up wih a couple nice fish. That Mac looked bigger in person! Maybe because it was the first one I saw come over after a long slow morning :)

I'm off all this week so it is unusual for me to be at Anglin's during the week. Hope to make it back out Thursday morning, maybe we'll run into you two again!

Biggest Ribbon Fish in all of South Florida, even bigger than Juno. You should have been there. In a word....Epic

8) I have heard from reliable sources that the Ribbons at Juno are hand fed, with fishermen holding ballyhoo up on the rail and the Ribbons jump up and grab them like Flipper.

Anyways,.. the Ribs will thin out soon enough. They do not stay too long.
I'll assume today was a handful of smaller Macks and a few other creatures of variety.

Way to go ZEBCO incredible report. Some great catches I don't know how you do it. If I had heros you might be one of them !
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

decided to go out to anglins pier today and arrived at about 12 noon, as soon as I unpacked the bluefish were on a frenzy and guys were pulling them in left and right. I saw Rob762 and I think I saw crashmister as well, hope to talk with you later guys. I ended up catching 1 cobia only as it was a slow day, an oriental man next to me caught 2 big ribbonfish on back to back casts. jig fishing was not producing anything at all. left around 5 as soon as heavy rain and stronger winds came in, hopefully next time its better.
Here's a pic of my cobia

I saw a few blues quickly slash at my jig with no hookups, the cobia was caught on my first cast and quickly released after the pic, it was my first cobia so Im somewhat happy

8) I just missed you 2. It completely sucked out there. I got 1 Mack 3to4 lbs. Was a pain to fish anyways between the Ribbonfish lines going sideways, their handlines tied to the rail under the hut, and others claiming their bottom rods are straight out, in reality they mean that their lines are 30 feet to the side. Or someone comes next to you and cast their bottom rod out preventing you from casting. Just a waste of time today. We need to delete saturday and sundays from the calender.

was there form 5:30a-10-30a
pretty much jigging the entire time.
got cut off once in a quick flash and lost a few hookups.
other than that... zero!

Hey, Zeb, try hiding their chopsticks. Ribbonfish rods? Were they using ribbonbikis?
Those other fish must be smart. We caught all the stupid ones!

Just read some of the reports from early November and saw the vids. Almost pooped my pants

I've yet to catch a spanish mack...or a pompano...and I would love to catch some ribbonfish (just the novelty of it). Send me a PM next time as a heads up, would ya? :P Depending on how good the bite is, $300 discount airfares to fly south for a week and catch some interesting new species (during a HOT bite) might be worth it :dude: :happyfisherman:

What kind of reef fish can you catch from Anglins on bottom (for example...fishing with shrimp or squid)? You know me...I'm all about catch any and all species of fish...big or small...even these "trash" fish.

Bummer the bite hasn't been too hot, hopefully it will get better soon.
