I was at BB for about 4 hours on Sunday morning using shrimp and got skunked..still cant complain because I wasnt at work.. Acutally the only thing I saw caught by anyway all morning was a little 8" mutton, which she proceeded to suspend on her line and run from two piers over to show her boyfriend/husband.

Talk about right place at the right time. Nice catch. If I casted out at bill baggs and left with that trophy, it would make my year.

Was out there today to cast my new rod made by Striz.
Fished from around 1-5:30.
The current was slack since i got there and when i left is when the bite was getting hot. The water was pretty clear, and it was a nice day out there.

Caught and released about 4 morays, also landed a 16 inch gag at around 5 when the tide finally started to head out. A couple more bites on the outgoing, and you could see the big snapper coming out from under the rocks and pier.

Unfortunately that was also the time when we got kicked out :D

Keep a look out on the tides guys, try to fish the outgoing on P8. Drop 2 lines with a 3-4oz sinker about 10-20 feet away from the rocks, and cast some out. See what happens ;)

Hit the Baggs today from 10 - 5.

No fish to be caught except bait, no good runs, but a nice day to be out.
At about the time we left the front started coming through, got windy as heck.

Beautiful day to be out there.

I went to the Baggs this morning for a couple of hours and nothing was biting , the only fish caught was a ''look down'' fish that I ''stole'' by the head :pistols:

I went to Bill Baggs this morning from 8 am to 11 am and except for a couple good bites nothing much happening, a factor being the strong current that ignored my 8 oz sinkers so from three hours of fishing I really got to fish like two... this fella looks like grunt but when it came out the water had a different color.

I guess is a grunt ,about two pounds and a little big for shoreline, also the mouth looks a little different...can anybody confirm this as a grunt? :reeling:

Well the above posts just sounds like gossip. Here is a report, but with nothing to report. LOL
I was out there on P8 by 8:45. no one there yet. I was the first one there. I brought 3 doz of live big shrimp and fresh sardines. To make a long story short, left at around 4:00 and didn't catch a darn thing. I never knew the current was so strong there (first time). Lost quit afew hooks and sinkers try to hold the bottom at no luck. Didn't see anyone catching anything either. Moved al the way to the lighthouse, stopping at different spots, but nothing. Is it better to fish towards the no name harbor platforms or is it the same thing??? It was a beautiful day though. Nice and relaxing and saw afew nice looking women walking around. Any advise if, I decide to go there again?? Thanks guys.

The first 2 platforms are good for barracudas if you like them. Toss out a live grunt or pinfish and you should hook up, its very shallow there.

Sometimes 8 ounces doesnt hold there, it all depends. Usually when the current is that bad i just cast all my rods close to the platform, youd be surprised whats only a few feet away.

You're right about up close. I must have seen at least 4 nice size mangrove near the edge underneath the platform. But if you cast short the line will run into the rocks by the seawall with the action of the current. It happen to me acouple of times. Than you also have to deal with the people by the seawall using their yoyo's and I even saw acouple of them with spools in their hands, and using Winn Dixie frozen squid. I said to myself, if they bring up something good, it's time for me to leave, throw away my live shrimps and head to Winn Dixie myself. I'm going to try and make it this weekend to the keys, depending on the weather and hopefully the moon won't be so bright. I have never been lucky with a full moon out there.

It was a full moon when i want and the bite was good. Only 4 keeper snapper and a nice mac, but many many sharks and had tons of fun throughout the day

Use a 4 ounce sinker and cast 10 feet in front of the rocks.. it wont move from there.

Also dont use egg sinkers, they will roll on the bottom with current, try banks.
