Dania Pier Fishing Reports 2013 to 2022 "ONLY REPORTS"

late report but this was from Saturday.

was out there with my dad from 5:30am - 11am

No bait what soever, I did see someone catching some goggle eyes buggin em.

Only fish I saw caught during my stay there were 2 bluefish, and maybe 4 or 5 mackerels caught, They had no interest on spoons or gotchas. Only 1 guy was the lucky one to catch em.

FYI - No Pompano's in case you were wondering.


other than that, beautiful sunrise, great weather and relaxing. not even the garbage fish were biting.

Went to Dania last week around 11 a.m with some friends, the end of the bridge was catching big blue fish like 7 pounders and from the half and too the end it was Mack Attack! We caught about 12 in 2 hours and i was half way down the bridge , the end it was almost 1 mack every cast ! Great day ! And ofcourse dont forget no crappie jig means no mack !

They do have lights but they will be off may 15- oct 31 because of the turtles.

started fishing at 7:30 in the morning to try and catch some snook. Got there real early since there's little people and I want to spend as much time there since I don't live right next to the beach. Anyways, as soon as I saw there was no bait, I wasn't gonna waste my time fishing for them. I just just decided I was gonna fish for mocks which seemed to be biting on crappies and gotchas. I missed to great bites, but then I caught my very first mack. After that, by buddy also caught his first by snagging one by accident. He didnt even know how to cast a jig lol. All in all, the mack bite was good until around 11:45, bait wasn't there until I think around 12:00, and some pomps were caught as well. Finally, water's starting to get green and clear, just how I like it.

Starting June 2nd the pier is closed midnight to 6.00 am. The bait shop also. The gate is chained during the night. Been there on the 3rd to buy some bait at 05.30.

Super smart move from those guys at Dania city.

nothing smart about them taking a safe place away from the kids

maybe i would have turned out like the rest of kids in my neighborhood in jail blah blah blah

if they really werent making moneyat night n if it was that big of a deal i would have had no problems what so ever paying more to get on the pier should have raised it to like 5 bucks just to pay for wteva

I havent really been fishing on the pier since ive been going offshore in my kayak but i was helping out DiversCove yesterday with the 3rd annual dania beach pier cleanup

Its crazy knowing all of this poop is under the pier while you guys are fishing.

There was dozens of gotcha plugs that came up from under the pier lmao.

This is not even 1/3 of all the stuff down there. More garbage was pulled up on top of the pier.This is all the garbage we pulled out on our kayaks.







Small report

2 weeks ago i caught a decent mutton fairlly close to the pier on the first reef.



As of yesterday June 30,2013

Lost of small pilchards on the surf and stacked up on the pier.
Couple of big barracuda roaming the pier
2 nurse sharks spotted chilling under the pier

Was out today 7:30-9:00. Huge school of Tarpon came around twice and you could see them feasting on the bait fish mid pier. Caught a 12 in mutton on a chicken rig straight down and had some clever fish jack my live shrim on my bottom rigs cast out south at 3/4 pier. No cooler on me so it was a catch and releace kind of day.

Was out at the pier Saturday (7-6) from 6:30 - 8:00. Strong currents and winds were really annoying. A lot of snagging on other people's lines and not a lot of luck. Caught this 6 inch flat silver fish that crapped all over the pier. Sorry not very apt at identifying by name. Someone hooked a huge shark which had to be cut lose. Attached is a pic of the shark.

Wed sunset report. Only small baits mixed in the surf. Couple of Snook around. Did not see any hookups. One 5 lb Jack and Ladyfish was caught. Tee was dead. Big baits should have been here 2 months ago?

fished last night from 8-1130. Not much action going on as far as I could tell in the spot I was. Water had a dirty color to it. Managed one legal grover and that's pretty much it lol. I did contribute to the dania cleaning as I pulled in about three cut lines from the bottom

I know this is supposed to be reports only but didn't know where else to ask. Probably going to hit the pier early tomorrow and was wondering if there was anywhere I could get live shrimp close by? Like to have a backup if the sabiki doesn't produce. Thanks in advance.

Yea anglers bait and tackle is on dania beach blvd. There has been plenty of bait to catch on the sabiki when I've been there recently.

Fished 7 to 11 today (8/3) and did pretty well. Lots of blue runners. Caught most of them on a small bucktail gotcha. The bait was extremely thick and the water was clear. Lots of snook cruising close to the beach, saw four or five caught on live bait. Saw a small cuda and either a big Spanish or small king hooked on a Yo Zuri minnow. Overall a pretty exciting morning bite.

Dania has been really productive this month. I've caught an untold number of Blue Runners on both artificial and a slip bobber + sardine rig. Hauled in a couple 20+" Spanish on a banana jig and x-rap. Today I hooked a huge king fish on a kastmaster and saw a nice bonito caught in addition to a good sized Cero that lost its tail to a Cuda. Incoming tide has been the best. Snook have been really finnicky lately, I've onl had one follow-up in a month on a xrap and no takers on freelining live bait. Looks like the Mackerel are already starting to make their way in?

fished the evening from 6pm-8pm. The bait was thick as usual. There were lots of snook and blue runners around. I also saw at least 6 mutton snappers pulled up (2 keepers) and 1 legal yellowtail snapper about 13".
My final tally for the day:
2-mutton snapper (1 keeper, 1 short)
2- yellow jacks
