there is a difference between not being intimidated and not respecting the locals....just dont step on anyones toes and if they dont wanna talk dont talk to them. I've only ever had one issue on a pier and that was when i was a wee goog (now im just a goog) and tangled my xrap in his trolley rig at anglins....i apologized but he was being a

Great advice Moose
most of the time if they see you know what you are doing there's no problem ... now ,sometimes no matter how good you are he still going to a dik.

I'm all for mutual respect, BUT I bow down to no "local" That's gonna be a Oscar mayer just because he ot she has fished a pier for years...fts...he come and do googan crap just because they think they own the pier, then I guess we'll have a nice man 2 man chat. I'll send him the f*** to hell...if I pay just like you, then you better believe you ain't running poop...besides, I keep my distance anyways...if I'm not in the strike zone and it's crowded, then I won't force myself like some morons do. But, fish comfortably like if you were in your own backyard zpunancy!

locals know what they are doing...without collaborate, a few days fishing on new place won't be successful...
if your objective is to catch fish on a new place, then you need to get the intels from locals...
Best way is to act as dumb tourist (no fishing gear)...with fishing rod, you can't even approach them...
Praise one local as hero and he will tell everything he knows...

Re: navarre pier
This is true, but I've fished many inlets and piers here in FL and some of them are jerks. They think they own the pier, will cast over or next to you just like a googan would when the bite is on even if he doesn't fit. I've had locals try and cast right shoulder to shoulder next to me with 25 mph ne winds..like really dude? Or come cast right next to me when I pull up a fish when everything's dead. Yes, some of them are great guys and will help you with info cuz I've learned a lot, even tho most of my learnings have come from either my dad or just having a keen eye on what others that know what they're doing do.

Correct. some basic knowledge never change but some may vary depending on geographic region.gruntking wrote:kblue wrote:

What I am talking about is beyond basic knowledge...Fishing Intel is some hot info that changes quickly daily basis like what they've been catching yesterday and today using what bait and where... those things we only share secretly even in this forum...

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, KOTS shot a pm to Kblue that Rare is the go-to guy to learn bridge fishing...
Kblue bugged Rare everyday to get the coordinate of Rare's honey hole...Rare never told him...but Raul saved Kblue to show his permit honey hole... One day annoyed rare told kblue that he doesn't have any honey hole...Kblue says that is so BS...
This story moves on another galaxy...
