Hello DPFISHMAN1....
Probably it's just because of the Christmas holidays that's why a lot of people had been showing up at the piers but am pretty sure when kids go back to school , it'll be a lot better, way way better!!!!
Hope to meet you soon @ Anglins...(it's my home pier)

DPFISHMAN1 wrote:I am starting to show my face aroung the local piers and I have noticed a HUGE increase in people fishing trolley rigs. I don't have a problem with the rig BUT when guys are using 3 or 4 rods to trolley it doesn't leave room for anyone else. Some of the trolley pros I saw today were using way too much hardware. LOOK, trolley rigging is nothing new and can sometimes be effective but when you have 8 or 10 rigs out you'll have nothing but trouble. I also guess that when you have that many rigs out you become an a$$hole. After today I promise that when I show up and the " TROLLEY SQUAD" has the school of dead baits floating on top I will do everything in my power to get totally tangled in your rigs,,, ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!! You trolley guys DO NOT own the T on any pier. Show a little consideration or lose gear. HAD TO VENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave did you snagg some when I LEFT? IDOTS ALL YOU NEED IS ONE STINKING TROLLEY OUT .

8) If there are Kings in the area, do not be afraid to fish 1 oz Krocs, or big jigs with a large strip. No reason to be lazy. You'd be surprised how many times a King will kill them. I walked out 1 day a few months ago and left with 4 keepers in less than an hour at Deerfield on a Big Kroc.. My friend had 1, and there were none caught on any bait. Less hastle to deal with too.

exactly....they dont no how to rig them, how to use them or how to cast a damn rod.....wouldnt be too bad if they didnt effectivly create a spider web with there casts :D

thats why i rarely bring more then 1 rod to the pier..........lol..get a kayak thats what ive resorted to......we should all get kayaks a do a sneak attack on the googan trolleyers an cut all their lines...then paddle away laughing  :D

Yep. I never trolley rig, theres other means of getting those kings to bite like you said. If i freeline any bait i usually hold the rod so i dont f-up others people fishing.

:stupid:

If I take the time to get to a spot early enough to stake out a piece of rail and have the legal amount of Rods out on a given pier, nobody is going to come and tell me how to fish OR snip my line, I do not care how " Big" or "Pier Famous" you think you may be...
Period.

Though I WILL agree that the use of Trolley Riggs with dead bait is quite frustrating to me as well - However that being said, piers all charge the same amount for all people googs or not so the fact that the population has grown leads to some piers being more crowded than others.

Tolerance is just a mandatory part of a pier-fisherman's toolbox here in Broward....Gone are the days of deserted piers....for better or worse.

i agree with you anthony but but i think that if people learned to cast and sent a live bait out then there should be no problem unless there fishing like 3 rods on trollys then thats compleatly UNNESSAASSARYY to the 3rd power. you should only put trolly out and a bottom bait and use a gotcha or krock, why dose it have to be all trolly expecially how frusterating it may be at dfp cause there tee is so small. but what pisses me off is when im at commercial and i or one of my buddies catches a nicefish in our spot we have been fishing for over 5 hours ea go out at like 11pm n stll out there passed 3am useually out tere till bout 10 pm the next day and fishin that spot opps my mistake i caught a fish that dosent intital other people to scoot in the place were my 3 rods are out and tangle with them and try to catch a fish there is a whole pier dont come into my little piece and destroy it cause i tell you what if my bottom baits have been out for like a whyle and im waiting for them to get smacked and you tangle them in your rods. or anything im going to be highly pissed and ill do anything in my power to make your time whye your in my spot misserable wether its crossing your line with my krock and snagging i might be a Oscar mayer but it just really pisses me offfff..im shue yall feel the same way but its the dam googind comming out there with there spinnerbaits. lol

8) Googans pay the admission too. Try explaining within reason to them the ways in this area. Being an idiot to them will only get you a few black eyes at some point.

I fish DFP almost every day and yes it can be frustrating....very. hHwever again, that being said, I have to agree with Zebco ( once in a while ..lol ) But yes, googs pay EXACTLY the same as you do to fish...

This wave of trolleying will die down. I am somewhat to blame for publicizing, widely, the results of the efforts of a few kingfisherman that have been consistant with it....

Now what really sucks is that a few folks have found it easier to trolley a dead ballyhoo rather than snobble the thing and actually work for their fish....

It sucks, I hate to see it, but if a guy is fishing his legal limit of rods, I do not see how you could, in good conscience "Tell Him" to remove a few....Sometimes the fella can ge dealt with diplomaticly, but these are skills not everyone possess'.

I DO see how a kid could get kinda elbowed around a bit whereas that does not happen to full grown men as much, so I see your point as well TT....

Hopefully the wave dies soon and only a few folks continue to do it. ( BTW a GOOD trolleyrigger with propper weight does not take up that much space really, guys... I ususlly run my gotchas just under the trolleyed gog with great results and few tangles, BTW)

Either way, Watch the heck out, cus I am mosdef trolleying up a few kings for this pier challenge !!! 8)

Ya, that blows, true, which is why you fish next to friends and folks ya know whenever possible...

Hey man, weekends are tough, which is why I fish Anglins and not usually DFP on weekends though I feel I have a better shot at a bigger king at DFP - Just not worth the headache.

Besides, try being nice to a googan once in a while...show him to use the right shaped weight to keep it down there, or to not overfish his gear's limits, rather target and catch smaller fish. Most will appreciate your efforts and help you fish unhindered in return...

Karma baby, you just cannot stack the deck in your favor enough IMHO...

I am cutting out my original post, in retrospect its probably not needed.

But I will say we should all practice what we preach. I will never claim to be perfect, but there is nothing worse in this world than a hypocrite. This is not aimed at the original poster, just at the community in general.
