Let's try this again!!!!!!!!!
I got deleted off the site by accident. Any way I had posted that I am new to the surf fishing game. I will be giving it a try in about a month at Grayton Beach just west of Panama City, FL. One person posted that I should list what equipment I have. I have a Penn 965 on a 8' Tiger Rod, a Penn 975 on a 8' Tiger Rod, and 2 Penn 525Mag on 11' 6" pinnacle heavy surf rods. The reason I have this equipment is that I fish for Hybrid Stripe bass below the dam on Lake Eufaula and Stripe bass below the dam on Lake Seminole. Both are on the Chatahochee River between Alabama and Georgia. I have caught fish up to 40 pounds on this equipment. I use 20 lb test triple fish line. Any suggestions on tweaking my set up for surf fishing would be greatly appreciated. Also what time of the day would be the best time to fish? Or would night time be better? And what baits should I use? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Make sure to bring some banks or prymid sinkers. 6 to 8 and a few 10 or 12oz for rougher water. Depending what you are fishing for will determine the type of bait you need. I would get some shrimp and try to get fresh bait like pilchard, ballyhoo, or gogs. Use them as cut bait. You should ask the local bait and tackle store to see what is the best time to fish and what is biting to give you a idea. Some of the guys on the forum will chime in soon to help you further. Good luck
