NP.. I'm going to do my damnedest to find a few crabs tonight, but no promises. The most i've ever caught(all caught by mistake) was three. By the way you wouldn't have to buy squat.

Re: Juno Fishing Pier Reports 2008
went out today, nice to meet Rijkaard and James380, thanks again for the crab. got a nice hit on a crab but i ran straight at the pier and couldnt catch up. landed a few macks and a nice cuda. had 2 big macks (5-6lbs) take live dines on my ultra light so i had no chance but it was a fiun fight. actually had the bigger of the 2 about half way up then it started shacking and cut the line. bat was around all day but big baits moved in thick around 2. saw a few snook landed and also saw some monster jack cruising. not a bad day.

Ricky James and James, nice report. I need to get up there. As soon as I am unemployed again, you can count on seein me up that way some more. Seems like a great place to fish in the summer and now we have some good people going that way.
Ricky,
Good luck in the tugas. When you get back, time to fish again.

Is the bait situation the same as it's been? Planning on going Saturday morning. Hopefully get my permit this time.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like the way it's been. Good to know I wont have to work for bait.

Re: Juno Fishing Pier Reports 2008
James,
Bait was more difficult to get than when we were there last but it wasnt too bad. You had to move up and down the pier a lot to find it. Ricky and I did not have much difficulty getting the big pilchards at the T when we arrived. The big pod of gogs was out of casting range for the time we were there.
As for fish, there were plenty of snook around. We didnt see any kings all day. No bonita in the afternoon but heard reports of them in the AM. Tiny little ceros were under the pier. I hooked a really nice mack at the end of the day and got cut off. Also a few runners caught here and there.

Helping Ricky catch bait yesterday?
Those little Macks were there last weekend up and down the pier. I'm planning on fishing a few crabs and hopefully pull one of those snappas out from under the pier.
I'll be there in the morning. G/F still in town?

Nope. She went home Monday. Not sure what Im up to yet. Might go to Dania for day break. Family stuff in the afternoon.
Ricky did a good majority of the bait catching but I filled the up bucket a few times.
There was a young kid there yesterday trying to catch snappa but kept getting broken off. He was also hooking up with snook. He swore he kept getting hit by snappers but I dont know. It was really heavy structure.

Re: Juno Fishing Pier Reports 2008
got to the pier at 3, not to much going on. bait was around and some big schools of googs came in and out. caught a few cero that were used for cuda bait but caught 3 big nurse sharks instead. snook were everywhere but not to many coming over when i was there.
left the pier at 7ish and headed to the blue heron bridge to try and catch a bull. got the baits out but had no takers. caught 4 small muttons that almost got a beat up for throwing back by the locals who keep everything. also landed one nice jack out there. james380 where were you? had a bunch of extra bait!!

got to the pier at 10 and bait was everywhere. from small dines in the surf to big threadfins and gogs all over the pier. schools of cero were around all day but the bite turned off around 1. bonnies showed up around 4 at the T. other than some snook it looked like a slow day at the pier. i caught 6 ceros, nice cuda, biggest snook ive ever seen and a monster eagle ray that i broke off(thank god) after a few jumps. almost cut my finger off with some PP.

James I got there around 9. Didn't see you and headed out to another spot. Got one small Snook in a couple hours of fishing. I guess it would have helped if we exchanged #'s.
Also never made it to Juno. Picked up a cold this weekend that has been steadily kicking my ass.

Oh well no wonder I didn't see ya. I thought you'd be mixing it up with the locals on the other bridge.

Anybody got directions on how to get to Juno from 95? Also, what time does Juno open?

Re: Juno Fishing Pier Reports 2008
If you are going north bound on 95 get out at Donald Ross Rd. Go as far east as you can, the street will end. Make a left and go about a mile and a half, The pier is on the right with parking right across the street on the left.
If you are going southbound on 95 you can exit on Indiantown Rd. Go east as far as you can, the street will end. make a right and go about 4 miles. The pier is on the left with the parking lot on the right.
Right now the pier closes around 8pm and opens at 6am I believe.

Re: Juno Fishing Pier Reports 2008
Went from 6 to 8 tonite. ait was every where. One big Tarpon fought from the Tee to the bait hut and back to the T and popped off on a piling. Apparently the bigger Bonita were tearing up baits starting at 5 and stopped when I got there. Caught one 11" Grover and returned him for later. Caught an assortment of bait for the Keys tomorrow. Greenies of all sizes, sardines, and bullet Bonita.
